Has anyone tried out Marc's new air filter housing? The AO ram air that is on the 415 car may be a bit restricting.

I'd like to see if we could get marc to bring a unit to BG for a back to back test on the LSV, If I pick up 10 hp or more, sold.

he was mentioning gains of around 7 hp on a stocker. very high quality unit that looks less restrictive. the big dog  :-D gotta eat!!!

I seen one at Marc Haibeck's shop. Pretty nice. IMO it might offer some improvement over the big inch cars. Again IMO the unit will offer little in the stock . At 465.00 I might try to run a disconnected air filter box first to see if there is any improvement to be had over an open element.

You can see a picture of it here. http://zr1netregistry.com/ZR1_merchandise.htm

I've already installed one on a friends ZR.

Think that I'll take the plunge with this. The A/O ram air has got to be choking the 415. The hose is too small leading from the front vent to the air box.

The Air Blaster should be on it's way here before the end of the week. We are going to try and do some back to back pulls with an open air box with the filter on it to see if there is any gain. My bet is that there will be.
BTW Mark is a great guy to deal with also.

Great, I would like to see what difference it makes over your current set up.

Hope that the duct is delivered soon. There is a dyno day in Saddlebrook NJ on the 22nd of January. And that would be good time to test + $ 40. for 4 pulls with wideband .

man that is great pricing on those dyno runs.

if you want to dyno at BG, we need to preregister, details
to follow.

I am opening a BG thread to get some discussion going

Looking at the photo, I'm surprised that the Air Intake Throttle Body Coupling Duct is the old accordion style which creates turbulence and restricts airflow

How much more would it cost to package a smooth one for increased air intake, maybe $30.00 :???:

Good thing we decided not to go to the pull in NJ. Snow storm that day. These cars are rough in the bad weather.

I will try to get the car on the Vette Dr's rollers and post the results here on the forum.
If not the swap will be done while at the ZR1 Gathering at Bowling Green in May on the dyno at the Museum.
