Well one thing I would like to bring up is the amount and quality of the posts here on the Registry lately. More and more folks are starting to post here rather than the CF and I have really enjoyed the last few months. I browse over there and might post on a rare occasion, but I spend more time here than anywhere. There are a few guys still posting over there first and if they would post here first, it would be THE PLACE to go for ZR-1 information.

I might also say that NOWHERE else can you read about the "King" like you do here. Show me a breaking story on a Haibeck 440 (with a possibility of more to come) anywhere other than here.

2008 should be quite the year.

I agree with you 100% John. But I have noticed that a few of our more notable posters have not been around this site lately. I see them over at CF when I'm lurking there. Sorry to see that:cry: They had alot to contribute over here.

Hope everyone has a great 2008:thumbsup:

There have been a few previous situations like this and the traffic has, in the past, momentarily increased.....I would like to see this as our Home and other venues as secondary resourses. I would love to see no more reverse migrations....this is our home!:o

I use CF mainly for two things, general C4 issues because I've never owned one before so I don't know much & the C4 section over there is of great value to me.

The second reason is the Events Section/ Northeast......without that section I'd be driving around by myself....the people there don't care what gen vette ya have.....although I'm the token C4 most of the time.....they just want to drive their cars & have fun. I'm all in for that idea!

Here is Pure ZR1 Forum. my Sweet home !!
Long time I didnt post in CF and even if i was back there i will not post there
and this is why i post Carbon Fiber thread here and not There !!

BTW, before 3 weeks agao i spoke with the Moderator there and told them why i was For ever band after my Band was Left in date, that was not fair at all.. I told him many of Zr memebr post Off topic in Zr1 genral section, and you dont move the thread or ban the user??
The moderator couldnt answer me, and told me go ask who band you forever. i didnt do anything wrong so i deserve that ban!.

it seems to me i havent Green Card just like other OR i am not fall in love with Moderator just like some members  .
anyway...when you made the Rules you should use that rules to everyone!

Hadi....
did santa bring you something for christmas?? new oil well? or something really tricked out like that?

For sure, the zr1 section of the cf forum has changed.
i personally don't like the ads, and don't post there much anymore.
Everyone that has a passion for their cars, sometimes, make stupid posts,
knowing they are on the fringe of being banned, i did, many others have.
Of course, you've taken it to a whole new level.. :sign10:
I think maybe it's the translation from your culture to ours.
but, i do love your passion, for our ZR1's and would love to meet
you at our Gathering, in Bowling Green, Ky, in may.
Fire your Jet up, and fly over and eat some Barbque, drink a few beers.

Ohh i thought about this setup long time!!
I used that to my Paxton s/c C4 .
so how much this kit cost?
do you use 100 % methnol, or 50% m + 50% water?
what about Detonation isue?

cuisinartvette
12-28-2007, 01:05 PM
50% w.w. fluid/50% water or the premixed stuff unless your car has a tune for Meth. Without a tune for it do not stick true meth in there. Yes, it will help with detonation.

I used to really like hanging out in the Off Topic section of the CF.
In fact I was spending *WAY* too much time there.
The CF used to get a lot more traffic than here, but that is 'a changing.

I took a fall after JeffVette got permanently banned for making a disparaging remark about the new owners of the CF and a few other comments which maybe should have gotten him a minor reprimand but nothing more.
But no.
The "Powers That Be" decided to make a lesson of the incident and the axe was dropped.
So to the CF I say "F U".
I'll never darken your door again.

This is the "Home of the King", let it stay that way.
I hereby proclaim my loyalty and fealty to the King,
LONG LIVE THE KING!

I agree John, good observation.

The irony is that for some people who complain that there are more posters there than here, they are perpetuating the problem by not posting here more.

While the other forum will always have more people due to all the different year corvettes, this forum will have more hard core ZR-1 owners/enthusiasts. There are more trolls stirring the pot over there, as well as those who want to talk up their corvette's over ours.
Our forum is selective by it's very nature, and will never have as many people. That said, there is no reason why more registered members here don't stay here. Posting there is one thing, but starting threads over there and not here has never made any sense to me.

As a New Years resolution, we should all make it a habit of coming here first, and certainly starting ZR-1 related threads here.

I was reading through this post and came across a post that said JeffVette is banned from CF.

First, I almost find this hard to believe. I have read Jeff speak/write what is on his mind but I'm not sure I've heard him say anything to flame someone. Second, I'm truly sorry to hear this. I'm not sure there is anyone who has been more "visable" that always seems willing to offer their EXPERT advice and been-there-done-that knowhow. Jeff, thanks for you ongoing contributions to our hobby. Third, $crew CF.

You can say whats on your mind there but you have to add a cookie and a pat on the back with each post or the crybabies hit the "alert" button like a patient low on methadone. If someone posts something asinine or asks stupid questions they already know the asnwer to but post it up for attention I have a hard time not giving them a stupid answer. Time wasters/liars :thumbsdo:

Gotta say look at all the traffic here today, this is the way it should be  .

Our pal JeffVette" had run ins with the "Power Happy Post Nazi's"...errr... "Mods" at the CF in the past. One that comes to mind was a slightly too racy avitar... (she was a babe Jeff) that got him a one week visit to "Band Camp".
This latest and more permanent ban was totally uncalled for.
When I heard that he'd gotten Permabanned, I dug into as much as I could find before the "PHPN's" deleted the posts.
I didn't find anything that should have deserved a Permaban.
It would seem that one disparaging remark about the new owners of the CF, Internet Brands, and I quote "IB No Care", was all it took.
Unless I missing something completly it appeared to me to be a personal vandetta against him.
Well, their loss is our gain.

I got banned for posting a "Good Bye" to my friends, saying simply that I disagreed with the "PHPN's" and that I didn't want to play in their sandbox any more.
I was permabanned and my post was promptly deleted.
I didnt' even get an email.
Nice bunch of guys.

The story continues even now. It's showing up on other boards right and left:

Guys it has nothing to do with the new owners.
CF was and still is a bias forum i've been a member/lurker for a very long time and it has become a corporate run forum, the sponsers make the rules not the people/costumers.
We are the reason they have all the sponsers no members no sponsers.

When the ZR1NetRegistry becomes a corporate run forum i will move on or make my own unbias forum.

The other big one for me was Mr MOFO has to realize that there's people/costumers on the other end of the computer and would like to be talked to in that way.

Did you guys know that CF used to have a Babe section until the corporations got rid of it.
Bye Bye CF

Well it is certainly cyclical...

Mom and the registry tried a push for this forum several times over the last several years. It works for a short time and then most migrate back the the CF for the majority of their post. Not sure why but it could be just habit patterns or maybe the suspect reliability of our software system??

Now that the CF is pissing off ZR1 guys and our system has shown some reliability, we may stand a better chance of keeping the membership at home.

I sure hope so...

Is this is directed at me?

If so, this thread and talking with a member last night is the first I've heard of Jeff's situation. And if I'm just hearing about it I'm sure others have no idea. I consider Jeff a friend and a great asset to our club and as such he will always have my support.

For me... A while back I tried to use this forum exclusively but it was weeks or months to get a reply. I then started to post to 4 sites: 1. This site; 2. CF; 3. Corvette Action Center; 4. ZR1NR List Server. Needless to say it took much time and it finally got to where the CF was the only place members visited regularly.

With that said, we have to have a plan to get members to migrate back to this forum.

Problem: 1. People don't know what they don't know; 2. They need to feel welcome
Solution: 1. Let people know and; 2. Make them feel welcome...

Suggested plan of action or strategy if you will:

1. We need to post ZR1 stuff primarily over here
2. We need to continue to post to the CF however our threads should only have links to threads we've already started over here
3. If you find a good post on the CF suggest they also post it over here
4. Rave in CF threads on how much better the moderators are over here
5. Push the envelope on the CF moderators (when you can) for their actions against good members
6. Our moderator's need to keep up their good work of welcoming new members as they now do... Something you don't get over there...

If we keep this up for several months I bet we will be successful...

You have to realize that not all will come because of what happened to one member (but it will help.) They will come because they want to...

So, let us help them want to... Who's with me!

Cheers,
RH

I guess over 1,000 posts isn't good enough :D

I'm not expecting all to bail on the CF just because of me, but just a fair warning... The moderators are going to be swinging heavy axes for quite a while, and there are two new moderators hanging out in the C4 sections. Mr Mojo stayed out of the ZR-1 section and lets us have our ways. Posting specific ZR-1 stuff for sale and basically letting us take care of our own. That will not happen anymore.

It would be nice if in peoples reply to posts on the CF they would include a link to the registry and note saying you will get your best answer there.

I think that's a great idea Jeff! I'll gladly confine my ZR-1 postings to our home in respect to you.

I did not know anything about what happen to you till I read it here.:o

I hardly post in the Z section there....mostly I live in the NE events section and the C4 gen & tech sections....but even some of the major players have moved on to another site when all the commercialism started to take place.

I will take what you and Ron have said as a road map for us newer guys to follow so we can make our home a really great place for ourselves & all the yet to be Z owners.

Those are some good suggestions, with #1 being the most important.

Some of the others I started to implement a few years ago such as #2.
As to #3 & 4, I would suggest those appeals be made via PM rather than in public because too much of that will be recognized for what it is.
Also, seeing newbies over there is a perfect opportunity to invite them here via PM which I do as often as possible.

Working together, we can help to increase the number of posters here which will address the primary complaint of those who gravitate elsewhere.

Well, count me in....the guys here seem to be far more intelligent & mature. The overall feeling here is that everyone is on the same playing field & the veterans dont make us newer members feel like dicks for not "knowing" yet. I'm glad this place is here & will frequent it more.

Welcome to the forum. :handshak: Everyone here is very friendly most of the time. Hope to see your posts here in the future.
