Anyone have information or history on '91 #1231????

Here's what I do know:
Build date: 11/30/90
Orig Dealer: Roy's Chevrolet (Union City, NJ)
Colors: White/Saddle
Details: I am probably the third-fourth owner of the car, which lived in the NJ/NY/PA area at least since the mid-90s before I bought it and recently brought it out to the Denver area. I can't seem to find any claim histories for the car and Carfax doesn't have anything of interest...

If anyone has any other info, or know anything about the car or previous owners, I'd love to hear from you.

Still needs the seatbelt recall done. GM VIS doesn't show anything else.

True... I saw that on the inquiry system summary but really haven't had a problem with the belt or the retractor yet. I thought that recall was for "sticking" belts... which I haven't experienced.

Is that something that I should look into before having a problem (i.e. safety issue)?

91-1231 sat around in a dealer's showroom for 10 months about like mine did. Mine was built in 12/90 and sold 12/91 - the additional dealer markup had turned into additional dealer discount as the market disappeared.

Thanks for the good info... I can't find much history prior to '95, so that clears things up a bit.

Was your car delivered to the same dealer or did they just have the same problem moving it out the door?

Scottif it ever needs an inspection of some kind that could be an issue if you caught the particular inspector on a bad day. i KNOW if it was coming north of the border it would be a problem until it was taken care of. once it's done it's always done. no charge at any GM dealership.

Seatbelt recall will still be performed, if they have the correct color belts for your car.

And on the radio, it's the base templete GM uses. This system really didn't come into wide use until 2000 or so.
