Anyone had a reason to go look for an ignition module for a 91 ZR1?

Any reason to not to look for a used one instead of buying a new one?

Any idea what I should expect to pay?

They do go bad on the rare occasion.

I would buy new, unless I was trying to stick within a budget.

New they will cost north of 500.

Like Jeff said, they do go bad on rare occassion, which is why i decided to go w/ a used one (because they rarely go bad). I paid $400 from white racing. It solved my problem, and he did guarantee it to work or would replace. Mine is also a 91, good luck.

Thanks for the info. Mine works well enough but come to find out that I have a bent connector pin. I know I didn't do it. I'm told that you can't bend a pin with just the strength of your fingers. I would tend to agree. I know I've never gone at the connector with a pair of piers or any other tool. All I can think is that the shop I used to take my ZR1 to (when I was in over my head) must have a "different process".

The bottom line is the pin is bent back into place but it will surely break if there is a next time. Any thougths on whether or not I should replace it, which means replacing the ignition module, or leave it go?

Jeff, you've probably been under the plenum as much as anyone. If in the future I continue to move the pigtail back-and-forth while pulling on the female connector housing, can I break an already fragile pin?

Thanks for the help guys.
