First, why does my LTPWS light come on everytime I drive for a little while? I dont have any air loss in any tire.

Second, does anyone know a part number for the reverse light switch on the ZF.........I assume it would be the same as a regular C4 with the ZF, but I want to double check that.
TIA

LTPWS is garbage. My suggestion is to pull them out as they are a hazard when driving at speed. But more than likely the power generator is going out on it.

Back up light is #10159402

Correct, it's a pain to get out.

Ok, thanks Jeff...yea, it will be a tight area to fit a wrench in, but I think I can get to it......I can always "manipulate" one of my old non Snap-On wrenches to fit up there or an old socket. It almost looks like if I were to take a drift and tap it with a hammer, I could break off the plastic enough to easily get a socket to fit in there with a small breaker bar.....

Should I expect my local GM dealer to have this?

I would not expect them to. The Reno warehouse shows 2 in stock and the LA warehouse shows 6 available.

Yea, I basically meant they can order it for me if I ask for that specific pt#...sorry for being unclear. thanks again....

FYI, I ordered the switch from Bill B, and he sent along a tool he'd fabbed up. Worked like a charm, and I shipped him the tool back along with a check.

I need to do the same thing to mine. What is the special tool?

Thanks,

Jason

It was just a box wrench only he like welded on another box wrench head IIRC, so it was deeper.

Does the Service LTPWS light come on after a couple miles every time you take the car out?

If so, then one of the tire sensors is bad. It also could be the receiving unit is bad, but thats a small chance.

You can check the codes by jumping pins AB on the ALDL connector and counting the flashes of the light, just like the SES light. But you cant clear codes from the LTPWS light by removing battery power, only by shorting the AB pins 3 times in 10 seconds. Very tricky, but it does work if you're persitent. If there are stored codes, that pesky LTPWS light comes on even when the system is working correctly.

Yes, it comes on after a couple of miles of driving. I've been told though that the sensors can be dangerous if the break free from the clamp, so I will probably get rid of all of them & remove the bulbs....but thank you for the info.
