Anyone know where I can get a green (Front left) sensor for a 1990. Prefer a new one so I know it will work.
Thanks

if you are wanting a ncr car, then you'll want to
put the sensor's on your car, if you are gonna drive it
toss them puppies in the trash can. they have been known to fail at high speed. kinda tough on fiberglass

Actually I've been thinking more and more about putting the sensors back in my car. I have had tires go flat, it would be nice to have a warning. I'm wondering if taping the sensor onto the band would help keep the plastic from cracking at high speeds. Something like helicopter tape or maybe duct tape, wrap it around a few times.
I need a new right rear one though as it was broken by a tire shop before I owned the car. As far as getting a new one, I thought they were still available from GM? Is that not true?

We need to find someone to build the sensors into the valve stem like the newer cars.. then the problems would go away.. LOL

Anybody have the schematics for them? or the information on them. I bet it could be reverse engineered to a SMALLER Package.. hardest part will be the transmitter in the sensor I would guess..
Anybody have any to disect? My Z did not have any on the wheels

I have one somewhere with a broken housing. I'm sure other people do too. They seem to get broken by tire shops with reasonable frequency.

WARNING: DONT attempt the tape method of repair. It gets hot and wet in there, and poof goes the adhesive. If the sensor still works - (you can check it by shaking it vigorously while driving to see if a Low Tire Pressure indication shows up) then get someone here's undamaged shell, transfer the green sticker, and mount up.
Also, the 93-95 sensors wont work with 90-92 cars (their frequencies changed), and you can tell the difference by the color of the shell - black for the early version, white for the later.

I busted one the other day at about 140mph...i knew exactly what is was since it started vibrating pretty viciously. I know it has been covered before but i couldnt find the thread on it....but if I remove them from my 91 completely will the light still stay on? I have the right front one out already.

Yes on the 90-91 only you can pull them all out and the light will not come on. 92-95 you have to pull the blub from the DIC or resort to the alabama black tape method over the service LTPWS section. GC

Well almost right. Ive been told a few times the LTPWS computer will read either frequency it really doesnt care what it is. The trick is to have a matched set of four. Either all White or All black (LF, RF, LR, RR mind you  )and it doenst matter what model year. But you are correct the black body sensors were at time of delivery for the early model and the white/cream colored body ones are for the later 93-95 models. Hopefully somebody will verify this is infact a true and tested statement.

Rich Sounds great maybe we could meet before you get to the track. Its about 40 miles away from my house and traffic to the event is just a plain bear. When do you project to hit Phoenix. Im on the north end of Town before you come into Phoenix. Yep been to the boat drags before they are just plain sick. Let me know. Daryll
