If all goes well,i should be there.
A certain N/A 10 second automatic ZR1 will also try to be there.:)
Dom,what time does the track open or what time is everyone going to be there?
Also are we gonna have our own lane or just line up with the rest of the crowd, either way works for me.

In case anyone else is interested, =Jeff= and myself will be at intersection of 47 and 20 around 8:30. There's a John Deere dealership on the north side of 20 just east of 47. We're expecting bobmic and Rice Eating ZR-1 to meet us there.
Anyone else, let us know and I'll pm my cell number.
P.S. Spoke to BJ at Byron and we have a lane for Saturday. Tell them you're with Corvette Forum when you pay your $25.
P.P.S.
MVR155 says:
"We (Larry and I along with a couple of others) will be leaving Elgin right
around 8-8:15 so we will meet you there. I have a friend coming from Huntley so I will have him meet us right at 20/47. See you guys Saturday:thumbs:"

Hans,
We usually don't stop for breakfast once we get going. I guess we could discuss when we all meet in the morning.
There's always some of the fine hot chocolate or coffee at Byron. :sign10:

Yeap.
Dom, the Communist Forum isn't paying me anything for me to advertise for them, i will pay like a regular racer,it would be different if it was the ZR1NetRegistry.
Phuk the Communist Forum.

Pete,
I don't think it'll save you any money. Its just that it gets us a couple of our own lanes.

I really didn't care if it saved me any money, but to mention at the door i'm from CF why would i do that, like i said they ain't paying me or my way in.
Phuk CF.
You could've said we are from the ZR1NetRegistry or just a plain jane Corvette Club.
See you at the races.

Shaun,
Very cool. Lgaff finally broke a 115 trap. There was definitely something wrong with those trap lights and calcs. They varied depending on if you had left or right lane. I'm tempted to go back if the weather holds thru November.
Pictures look great,Video?:)
Thanks Shuan.
I will know more Monday on the Dyno thing.
It was great to see everyone again.
Maybe next year we can rent the track.:)
Had a great time.

Let me know. BTW, I got half a mind to go back next week if its nice. Might try a harder launch. But I am also suspecting injectors since I got NO increase in trap speed with headers.

Lgaff good for you.
I figure something was going on with those trap lights, when my Z picked up 30 MPH on the top half of the track.
I don't understand the ET's seem to be ok but the MPH was nuts.
Dom, go to Union Grove,US41 or Route 66 if you go again.
My Union Grove and US41 time slips look the same.

How many aluminum cans would I have to save to get $6K to port the heads? Because thats the only way I could do and not have my wife find out.
Running low on mods to do, will open up the IH/Intake this winter.
Good tune is also in order.
Al and Pete thanks for the help today.

Pete,
Yeah. I ran the right lane on last run. My 1/8 mph was 4mph SLOWER than the left side. I picked up 28mph between the 1/8 and 1/4 trap. Let me know if you're going to the Grove. I've run 66 and that is one nice track. I want to try coming out harder than I did today. But I'm disappointed in the trap speed being the same as before I put headers on. I was expecting at least a couple of mph pickup. Maybe I need to check injectors.

The silver C6 Z06 broke, I saw them pushing it around after the last round of runs, I would assume the trans went.

Wow, Lee...:handshak: Looks like you found the groove. Congrats!
Had a great time guys, can't wait to do it again! :dancing and I'm in on the Dyno day too.
I'm satisfied for my first time out, but I need to work on my technique.
13.1sec @ 110.5mph isn't bad but I think I can do much better.
Dom, let me know if you want to go again I can use the practice.
Here's a linky to a few pic's I snaped...

Hans,
Very cool. I think I counted over 192 valves and 24 cams in one of those pics. I plan on checking my injectors in the next few days. Your car ran well for first time out.
If it looks like nice weather in the next few weekends, I'll let you know about going out again.
Pete,
I'm in for dyno days especially if its in West Chicago. Right down the street from Jeff and me. We could find a good place for lunch too.

Hey Lee what other mods do you have?
LGAFF
10-21-2007, 07:10 PM
-DRM 415 package:
*63mm TB
*Open lid/K&N
*extrude hone plenum/IH....only smoothes things out, and diameter is slightly larger than stock, not the 36mm of a full port. I measured, and port is about 34.5MM
*Generic DRM chip
-Watson headers
-Borla Challenge: removed resonator..magnaflow X-Pipe
-4:09 gears....don't know that these help I have to get into 4th to complete the QTR
I wonder if a short shifter might help with the extra shifts. Will probably port to 36MM this winter.

XfireZ51:
Don't worry - you likely did gain a couple mph from the headers. I think the density altitude was worse than we all thought. I checked the weather when I got home - temps were 70-75 degrees with baro of 29.7-29.8". Not exactly sterling weather conditions. We also had a bit of a headwind to contend with, plus I suspect Byron is using a light system for their traps that probably reads a little low - like 1-2mph. My 421 ZR was running 124mph & I've done as high as 129 before. My ETs were on target @ 11.0s, but alot of guys seemed to be off on the trap speed. Whenever looking at your gains, it's critical to check for comparable weather conditions or you might mis-calculate. I remember an old '94 Formula that I used to bracket race. It's times varied as much as 0.9sec on the ETs and 6mph trap speed going from humid 90+ summer days to clear crisp 50 deg fall days with high pressure barometer readings. I'll bet your car is fine and your headers worked.

XfireZ51
10-23-2007, 02:54 PM
KC,
There definitely was something off on the trap speeds. I saw ETs in the 12s with a 92mph trap. And my 1/8 mph was 4mph less in the right lane than in the left, but my 1/4times and trap were better. Go figure.
