ZR-1 Net Registry - Gathering West in Las Vegas
featuring Mile Shootout on Nellis AFB

http://www.zr1netregistry.com/lasvegasgathering.htm (http://www.zr1netregistry.com/lasvegasgathering.htm)

Safety Rules are relaxed. Site should be updated soon.

**News Flash**

1 Mile requirements have been changed - Less than or equal to 168 MPH there will be no special requirements beyond the 1/2 mile requirements + fire extinguisher. For Hardtop Corvettes - this means no harness bar/5-point harness requirement

169-187 MPH starts the harness bar and other requirements previously listed.

186 MPH = full up requirements.

If you break the 168 MPH limit (without the necessary safety equipment) you will be forced to run the 1/2 mile only.

*Additional News*

This basically states that you DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE a NOMEX driving suit/shoes/gloves...if you are running UNDER 169 MPH. The seat belt requirement below also states SHOULD...not MUST. Read it carefully.

Personal Safety Equipment

Street Stock Divisions:
Belts/Harnesses: Factory stock belts, OEM or better, in good condition, no frays or excessive wear, are the minimum standard. Sport-compact-style 4 point 2-inch belts are also acceptable. A proper 5 or 6-point safety harness is recommended. See Harness Mounting Requirements below. Factory OEM belts should not be over 10 years old. Cars in these Divisions greater than ten years old should have their original OEM belts upgraded to newer belts.
Helmets: A SNELL Foundation M2000 (or later) helmet in good condition with shatterproof eye protection is the minimum standard. (Shatterproof eyeglasses will be considered the minimum standard). An SA 2000 helmet is highly recommended.
If an “M” helmet is worn, a Nomex balaclava must also be worn.
Clothing: Non-synthetic clothing (cotton, wool, leather etc.), covering torso, arms, and legs, plus gloves and leather topped shoes without holes are the minimum standard. Golf gloves and athletic shoes with holes are not considered appropriate. A Nomex driving suit is highly recommended.

None of the 415's showed up. They would have out done the Z06 this year, and they would have tied Locobobs best from last year in his 368.

Thanks Carter!
I think it was my (lightened) custom cam cover emblems and throttle body plate that made the difference!
This event again was so much fun. You should have seen newbe Brandon Coe's face after every run. I highly recommend it to any ZR1 owner. As Gary Patterson would say, "Drive your car, Damnit!!"

I do believe you may be right but I believe it was your driving that got them there. Way cool and could not have happened to a nicer guy.

Those that missed the Gathering West in LV (and there was a bunch of you) this year missed out on seeing Corvette (ZO6 owned and driven by Angle Yumart, by the way a ZR1 owner also) kick *** on Lambo's, Ferrari and Prosche. Angle won the "King of the Hill" along with being the most consistent (3 runs) in the modified class. You also missed out on stock
ZR-1's kicking *** on the same three brands, if only the 415's would have been there, they would have taken it all.

I would like to thank Jeff Flint for his "tech talk" and "hands on" work on Ron's sons car. Also, Gary Patterson for the "Shelby" tour, Executive Suite use during the drags, and for the great BBQ at his home on Sat. night. Thanks Ron Hanselman for convincing the Air Force to let us use Nellis and for all the work you put in to organize all the events at Nellis. A big thanks also goes to all the Airmen and Women along with the volunteers that made it all happen.

Those that missed out will have another chance next April (likely) so plan ahead. If you haven't been or you have been and didn't make this year you are missing one hell of a good time!

Thanks,
Jerry Schubert
