Safety Rules are relaxed. Site should be updated soon.
**News Flash**
1 Mile requirements have been changed - Less than or equal to 168 MPH there will be no special requirements beyond the 1/2 mile requirements + fire extinguisher. For Hardtop Corvettes - this means no harness bar/5-point harness requirement
169-187 MPH starts the harness bar and other requirements previously listed.
186 MPH = full up requirements.
If you break the 168 MPH limit (without the necessary safety equipment) you will be forced to run the 1/2 mile only.
*Additional News*
This basically states that you DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE a NOMEX driving suit/shoes/gloves...if you are running UNDER 169 MPH. The seat belt requirement below also states SHOULD...not MUST. Read it carefully.
Personal Safety Equipment
Street Stock Divisions:
Belts/Harnesses: Factory stock belts, OEM or better, in good condition, no frays or excessive wear, are the minimum standard. Sport-compact-style 4 point 2-inch belts are also acceptable. A proper 5 or 6-point safety harness is recommended. See Harness Mounting Requirements below. Factory OEM belts should not be over 10 years old. Cars in these Divisions greater than ten years old should have their original OEM belts upgraded to newer belts.
Helmets: A SNELL Foundation M2000 (or later) helmet in good condition with shatterproof eye protection is the minimum standard. (Shatterproof eyeglasses will be considered the minimum standard). An SA 2000 helmet is highly recommended.
If an “M†helmet is worn, a Nomex balaclava must also be worn.
Clothing: Non-synthetic clothing (cotton, wool, leather etc.), covering torso, arms, and legs, plus gloves and leather topped shoes without holes are the minimum standard. Golf gloves and athletic shoes with holes are not considered appropriate. A Nomex driving suit is highly recommended.
