All gauges read normal? SES? This might be one of those that require pulling the bulb and playing ignorant. I dunno, but I am sure someone here does. Goodluck.

Hummmm, just two things come to mind. Temp & volts, if either are out of normal range I think the "check gauges" lite comes on....not entirely sure but I think it's in the owner's manual. I'm too lazy to go to the car & look it up!:o

"Check Gauges" is not caused by an engine malfunction code, that would be "Service Engine Soon". I agree with the previous poster, oil temp/pressure or voltage.

Doe's the light come back on after the car has been shut down and restarted ?? And if so, is it immediate or doe's it take a few minutes ?? Sometimes these computers just have a brain f--- and need to be reset by turning the car off and restarting.

You need to double and triple check your actual pressures and temps, dont want to lock it up. All your fluids have full pressure and correct temps? What about gas?

sorry about the spelling (glasses .) does the fuel pressure involved in that light also? or is it just oil and coolant ?

No Fuel Pressure is not directly monitored on the LT5.
When I had that light come on, it was a faulty oil pressure switch which was leaking and showing slightly low oil pressure.
How new is your battery?
