From ebay ad...."
This is a very rare and unique opportunity first time ever offered. This is a Lingenfelter-enhanced/Pirate Racing/Auto Masters 1990-1992 Street Skinner LT5 engine assembly, ready to install. This engine has been completely freshened (07-07). This engine was one of the backup engines for the famed Pirate Racing team which competed very successfully in the Speedvision World Challenge GT series (numerous poles and podium finishes). LPE fully ported the entire top end of this engine package and CNC’d their logo into the plenum. This 350ci engine, then equipped with SCCA legal camshafts, made an incredible 600 HORSEPOWER!!

This package consists of total upper end porting and polishing of the cylinder heads, injector housings, plenum runners, throttle body, and air horn assembly. This aids the engine in upper rpm breathing and results in significant horsepower and driveability increases. Throttle bodies are thoroughly cleaned, inspected and adjusted. The troublesome secondary port throttle blades are also removed from this engine to achieve even better engine breathability. These OEM camshafts are precisely timed for maximum torque and horsepower outputs. Custom prom calibrations are available (see below). "

It was funny. They (SCCA) gave the small blocks 1/2 inch lift with their cams so I asked Graham if we had the same what could we make as far as a special cam and HP numbers. He just laughed out loud!!!! We got the cams....

What happened was we took the engine to Rippie to set in the chassis and after we left he took the car to a dyno to see what it had. When he saw 500 at the rear wheels he freaked out. He was building our other C4 and ended up doing an illegal stroker 383 just to get close to Graham's LT5. Cooper drove the C4, took the pole and won the race. Scotty B. our driver, qualified 4th but had an argument with a Camaro on the back stretch.
I 'spose if you wanted "documentation" you could just call Rippie....:-))

Can you tell us the specs of those cams.:)
I'm close to 465RWHP in my 350ci stock buttom end and still looking.

500rwhp is very doable in a 350ci i'm a believer

I will have new cams made,do you think 450 lift will help?

It's been so long ago I can't come close to remembering but Graham at LPE is the one who designed them. He is still thgere and might be able to give you some info but as I remember, he was very proprietary about the exact specs.

My two cents, but if you already have an engine in your car in good shape, you could get a similar package for less. It's basically just a fully ported 350, but without headers, without injectors/sensors, and with labor needed to install it into your car, for a few grand more than something like a Haibeck 500 package (which it basically is).

While I can appreciate in this case you'd have two engines, I suspect some people are like me and have no place nor desire to store an engine in their house. But if you needed an engine and wanted more oomph than stock, it sounds like a good buy.

So the OEM cams with the custom cam timing is still making this HP?:icon_scra

No, of course not. Those cams were very aggressive as the hp numbers suggest. Also, in race trim there are many other benefits which free up hp i.e., limited (and missing) accessories, large headers with shortened exhaust, etc.

Hardly
You might notice the engine is advertised as having complete upper porting and polishing. There are special pistons & rings installed, the lower end has been completely balanced. The cams have been timed accuately for optimum hp and torque. HP numbers depend on the setup. I.e., injectors, headers, exhaust, calibration, etc. Numbers would start at 480hp and go up from there. 500+ w/headers etc. in a street car. Nice and driveable.
