I just bought a 91 ZR1. The car has 10000 miles and still has the original tires with pretty good tread. I am considering buying new wheels and tires and putting the originals away. I saw an ebay auction for wheels and tires http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=003&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=130136176302&rd=1 . The offsets sound right for the rears (36mm) but I'm not sure about the fronts (38mm)? Is that correct? Anyone ever hear of these tires- Vredestein Sessanta?

vredestein are very popular in europe with the smaller cars...while they do not compare with michelin or goodyear for racing potential, they are good choice for the street...i didnt know they were making zr1 size

Thanks Z. I wasn't sure about the front.

You'd want to clarify the rears as well as the ad states they have the "Grand Sport" offset, which is not the same as the ZR-1 uses.

That's a good point Ruby. If I go this route, I will have them double check the rear offset.

You really have to pay attention as I bet there are 20 times as many GS offset wheels as there are actual ZR offset wheels listed/sold on ebay. It seems that ZR! has become a "style" of wheel and has nothing to do with the correct offset. I PM-ed you a forwarded email from an ebay vendor who claims to have the correct offset for our Corvettes.
Good Fortune in your search.

Thanks wild and Blue. I know there is a lot of mis-information with the eBay vendors. I did find one that does have the correct offsets of 56 and 36.

AFS Wheels. Here is their reply to my inquiry:

"Hi there,

Thanks for your inquiry! Sure, we can offer you them in the ZR1 original 56mm and 36mm offset if you’d like. Be sure to add a note when checking out under the “SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS” field. Let me know if you need any other assistance and I’ll be glad to help."
