I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I have a 90 ZR1. When I push the gas the car has no power. The car is running lean when I get on the throttle and the computer gives codes 21 and 33. TPS voltage high and MAP voltage high. The MAP sensor was replaced about a year ago. The TPS is original. If anyone has any info on this I would much appreciate the help. Thankyou.

Same car with the lifter problem last year?

21 indicates that the TPS reads higher than 2.5v and 33 indicates that the MAP sensor is seeing a low vacuum condition with the throttle at less than 3%.
My first guess would be a vacuum leak, a big one.
I've found the best way to test for vacuum leaks on the intake is to use a small propane torch (the kind plumbers use). Just crack the valve a little bit, just enough so that you can hear it hiss and spray it around the hoses and the intake bolts while the engine is idling. If there's a big enough leak, the engine will suck in the propane and the idle will go up a little.
I guess for safety's sake I should make it clear that you should do this outside and you DO NOT LIGHT THE TORCH!!

Good luck!

I will try this out with the propane torch. I went ahead and ordered a new TPS. Hopefully it will come soon. I was thinking that if the signal from the TPS is wrong then this could also be the caue of the MAP code as you stated that it was TPS dependent. Could this be possible? Anyway, thankyou for the tip on the vacuum leak check. I will try this. Happy motoring.
