Frustrated with ZR1 registry site.I have been a member for over a year and have renewed for next year. On the registry site it will not allow me to update my vehicle and it hasn?t the whole time. I emailed my questions to the site but they go unanswered. I have followed all instructions but I believe it is because my nickname box is not grey it is white. Does anyone answer emails on that site?

Hey guys. Emails definitely get answered but sometimes takes a minute since we have an all volunteer board.

Mikey's spot on. All volunteer board who give a lot of time to keep the legend alive and all the members happy -PLUS- several new board members who have to get up to speed. Be patient ... your needs will be taken care of.

no problem but let it be known, not one person last year responded to anything i questioned so congrats on having people to do so. going in the right direction.

i would request on the members side we create a list of wrecked or junked cars. seems i found one last time but dont see any this year i know of two in junk yards completely strippped we should be able to post those vins free and forever

so with that, do i have to pay 50 bucks for each zr1 i have to register it and then it disapears at the end of the year?
i work on C4's and could register cars i work on just for tracking. realisticaly, i bet less than half still exist but without these tools..... nobody will know

Pretty much sums up my experience also. Love all the info but I wanted my experience to be more than a t shirt. I am booked for May my first so I am looking forward to that.

The new Board Members just had their first meeting and I understand the website was central to the discussions. Fortunately we have some IT guys on the new Board and sure they will be making changes and improvements.

Did the topic of windshields come up at all in the first meeting? No one has commented on it for many months, now.

Hi everyone, Zach Miller and myself (Zack Brinkmeier) are new Registry board members and we just gained backend access to the forum and the registry website. We are aware of a lot of the glitches which is one of the reasons why we signed up to help in the first place. Please be patient with us as we both have full-time jobs and this is all going to be a big undertaking.

I have added a new sub-forum just for cars that are for sale, separating them from the parts and making them easier to find.

There were glitches with the site causing board members to not receive emails when forum members would reach out through the site. Long-term we are looking at completely re-doing/modernizing the forum but in the meantime we are working on fixing any glitches.

UPDATE: If you send a message via the Forum through Contact, we are now getting those emails

Kudos to the volunteers who help keep this site, the registry and the legend alive. It will be great for the site to get updated especially just for the comms links to work for those members who don?t personally know the board members and have alternative ways to communicate.

I can attest that whenever I have noticed a call for help get posted and not answered quickly, whenever I forward the threads directly then those board members jump into the thread immediately. It?s a great group and if you?re able to come out to the gathering you?ll meet many in person and add them to your own Rolodex as well.

well i run a car club here on the west coast and we have probably most the ZR1's on the north west coast accounted for but few are willing to post on here because of the problems. maybe my club should start a competing page ? thoughts?

Frankly, the last thing we need are more websites and more social media pages for the ZR-1. It's best we consolidate all of our efforts.

We understand everyone's frustrations with the current forum. It's going to take A LOT of work to modernize it. Even the corvetteforum is behind on the times and the tech.

Now, if you have are tech saavy and want to contribute to our efforts here, please fee free to DM me and we can try and work something out.

I just wanted to thank Zack Brinkmeier for the phone call yesterday. Zack explained everything and I am very excited that he is part of this board. Looking forward to an even better registry in the future.

Now that post deserves a "Thumbs Up" or a "Like", if we could only post one on this forum. But alas, we can't. So here's looking forward to an improved website the future. --Bob

Zack, I put together the current website several years ago, and agree it could use an update. It's was a long time back and the technology has moved on somewhat, but if I can help in any way I'm glad to. Preserving the information on the forum is going to be a tough job and was an issue even back then.
Thanks for stepping up.

The same issues people are complaining about have been going on for close to 20 years and the excuse that the people running the site are volunteers isn't a valid excuse and frankly it's a bit of a cheap shot, whenever I hear that excuse it's just another jab at the continuing issues. Members pay for a service therefore there is a financial responsibility from the site directors to ensure they receive what they pay for. While I value this site, all members and the overwhelming support we share with one another why do the same issues persist year after year? I do appreciate the time and effort the new directors are spending to make all this happen. How many members first time, one time paid members? After dealing with the very same issues that the OP posted about here,18 years ago I was done after 1 year of paid membership.

Just as of last week, we lost one of our Board Members and a Moderator of the Forum. I have a full-time job and am a new volunteer. I've empathized with your grievances and am working diligently to help but there is only so much I can do as one person under the circumstances.

I have directly asked for assistance throughout multiple Forum posts recently and have received very little tangible assistance.

Would you like to offer tangible assistance with the Forum? If not, I respectfully ask that you take a step back.

Honestly running a site is a lot of work and this is a bit of a bespoke service to a relatively small crowd and yet it costs next to nothing to be a member and just the access to the library of info will save you ten-fold if you ever need it.

Lot of complaints over relatively small issues none worth losing sleep over or worse, showing a lack of patience towards our volunteers.

Around here stepping up and offering solutions will be way more valuable time spent than complaining. Wish I had the time to volunteer and help run the site but I don?t and I contribute to this community in other ways instead.

If you?re at the gathering we can have a beer. Or other beverage.

I heard they left due to family commitments and not being able to be as available as they once were.

Zack,

I also share some of same frustrations as Jeff and others having been a member for over 20 years; even before what the Registry is today. I appreciate the new generation and younger talent stepping forward to take the Registry to the next level and your efforts. I was going to quit after all these years, but some good folks talked me into remaining a member as of today.

I would like to be part of the solution than part of the problem so please let me know how I can help in any capacity. Over the past 40+ years I was with the military and moving all over the world with temporary duty and deployments, so I did not want to commit to anything I could not sustain. Last summer I retired, so I have time now other than catching up with over 20 projects for my ZR-1. I am not a traditionalist nor an NCRS owner, and probably have one of the most owner modified cars in the group. This is a special group for a special car and many of us are here to keep the Legend Alive more than anything else. Through the years I have seen the Registry take a turn with changes I did not agree with so I pondered quitting several times to be honest. I believe this is an organization for the truly dedicated owners of these cars and should not concentrate on membership numbers, but some focus on the quality of the website will help to gain new and dedicated members.

I have received email notification of about 10 posts to this thread since Craig's last one five days ago. All seem to be missing. In fact all the posts that I received notice on were questioning why so many have been deleted. Zack, you need to respond to these questions of many long time members here. --Bob

Our Forum has been receiving a lot of new user requests from foreign-based scammers/spammers. We were trying out a new filter software that glitched and was apparently blocking or possibly deleting new forum posts and replies. I believe I have fixed that now.

If this was your issue, please test it out and let me know whether or not it was fixed.

If this was not your issue and something else is still broken, please let me know that too.

FYI, I am receiving emails directly through the "Contact" function for the Forum.

Thanks Zack--Maybe this is the issue. I just posted mine today and it seems to have stayed in place so maybe you have indeed fixed it. We'll see if others can post here successfully. --Bob

A number of posts failed to post last night.
All, except mine, made it to my email, but they failed to post on the forum.
My post disappeared entirely.
Must be a problem.

There appears to be NO POSTS for over two days, until just recently.
Very unlikely.
Something must have broken, or everyone got quiet.
