My Z was damaged because of a semi truck that came over the road on the center line and on a country road without any shoulder. I hit something and tore up the front part of the bumper. Is this fixable?

Don't know, but are you OK?

I have seen amazing repairs to flexible bumper covers. There are special flexible fillers and painting agents for such repairs. Matching the paint might be the most difficult.

Sorry about your misfortune, Roy. I saw this from a Motor Trend article after a quick Google: C4 bumpers are made of "PUR (Polyurethane Plastic Rigid): Most Corvette bumpers are made of this material. It sands to a powder, does not melt when subjected to high-speed grinders, and is easy to repair."

I would say a quick reconnoiter with a trusted body shop should be helpful. I know that on my C7 (a similar color) I was hit in a parking lot and got a similar scrape on my rear bumper and the local body shop did a fill and sanding, spot color touch up then a clear coat of the whole bumper. Can't tell that it was ever damaged. Don't know if you need all of that but worth a discussion. It was an insurance job for me (the perpetrator's insurance) and they billed about $900 including a new Corvette emblems. I would imagine yours would be covered by insurance, either collision or comprehensive. Good luck!--Bob

I'm okay but the car needs a little help. The shop that was recommended said to replace the whole bumper because they said that they didn't know how to work on plastic. That was weird. I guess metal cars only. I'll keep looking.

When I had that scrape, I wasn't sure who would be good with our Corvette plastics, so I checked with my main performance tech at the local Chevy dealership to find out who they used for Corvette repairs. They recommended the body shop that did the work for me. They did a fine job I thought. --Bob
