Fixin to order a chip from Marc Haibeck and removed the ECM cover to get my chip # since the ECM is a '92 GM refurb unit.
There was a ADS Superchip installed.
Searched and can't find any info on the ADS Superchip.
Don't have the shift light and both fans appear to run at start.
Appreciate any info y'all might have on the ADS Superchip.
Thanks,
Gary

You're welcome. Searches can be finicky, especially nowadays with search engines being nowhere good as they used to be for finding things on forums.

thanks Andrew L,
Should've used Boolean search (Superchip) or *Superchip*, etc. but didn't think of it.

Installed Marc Heibeck new chip with the ADS Superchip since my '92 didn't come with the factory OEM chip.
Problems encountered:
1) Idle RPM = 2,000
2) Service Engine Soon light = On
3) Check ASR light = ON
Removed the Heibeck chip and reinstalled the ADS Superchip by itself.
1) Idle RPM = OK
2) No lights on DIC
BTW, do not intend to apply there's anything wrong with Marc Heibeck's chip. Could be an incompatibility problem or maybe I didn't have it installed corectly. Intend to try again next week.
Appreciate all ideas and suggestions. Thanks,
Happy post 4th of July!

ADS is an old calibration. The fact that the fans run on START makes me suspect the checksum is disabled. That?s something that had been done in the early days. I would get a stock prom for the appropriate year and use that w the daughterboard for Mark?s prom.

XfireZ51,
Appreciate your input. Good info.
Searched and couldn't find any data on exactly what the ADS Superchip did or how it was modified.
Any idea best source for a 1992 BPPAG4 Memcal?
Thanks,
Gary

I would certainly recommend you talk with Marc if you experienced problems with his chip. I don't recall anyone having problems with his chips so it would certainly seem like a good idea. He always stands behind his work and products.--Bob

Warp Ten,
Seriously doubt that the problem is Marc Heibeck's chip. Suspect it's an ADS Superchip compatibility problem.
Need to acquire an OEM 1992 BPPAG4 Memcal to test with since there's no data available on the ADS Superchip changes.
Appreciate your input. Thanks,
Gary

It?s BPPA is the broadcast code you are looking for. Marc adds the G to the end as well the number to denote his calibration.
Jerry has fresh OEM mem cals.
