Our 1990 ZR-1 had some acid etching in the paint, due to years of neglect. We had it paint corrected with a 1 year ceramic coating applied. The result was disappointing.
I recently heard, through a friend, of Icon Rocklear coating. After finding a certified detailer in Cookeville, TN, we made an appt. After three days, the job is finished and I'm very satisfied with the result. As a NCRS geek, it was important for the orange peel to remain and, it does.
This vehicle is going straight to the National Corvette Museum and will be there until October.

I have a TON of questions about the process and results. I am close enough to Cookeville TN to trailer my car there. When time permits, would you send me an email to corvette95@duck.com . I will also try to PM you. THANKS!

Jeff, you may recall that back in about 2014 I had just a paint correction done on the '95, without any extra coatings. The detailer who did it (LUSTR Auto Detailing in Schaumburg IL), said the C4 paint was quite hard when compared to many later paints and responded well to paint correction. You might consider that on your paint. It doesn't correct stone chips; you have to deal with them, perhaps with Dr. Colorchip, not to fill them but at least to make them less obvious (what I did). I thought the result was excellent and much less expensive than adding the coatings as well (although the coatings do work well). I am sure mine was not as nice as that of AirbusDriver but it was a big improvement for the 30+ year old paint. --Bob

This heap went on display, today, at the NCM and will be there through October. If you visit, check it out and decide for yourself if it's for you...
