In the latest HOB Marc has a write up about adding a 22k Ohm resister to help low lighting on the 90's .
Can a 91 set-up be used in replacement of the 90 to resolve this?

only by swapping in a 1991 CCM. I did that on my 1990

Did you do everything or only the gauges button and DIC section? as this this the section with the light sensor.

You only need the CCM (and get it reprogrammed to match your car. That takes care of everything. The added digital gauges did not start until 92

Jeff I think your miss-understanding what I'm asking. HOB issue -64 page 35 Marc H has a write up on adding a 22k Ohm resistor to increase the low level display lighting on the 90. In the 91 this issue was fixed. I just wondered if the section that has the switches and DIC could be interchanged 90 to a 91? to resolve the low level lighting vs soldering in a resistor?

90 and 91 switches are the same, circuits are the same. The change is in the CCM form the OEM standpoint. The resistor changes the voltage to act like the later years. So using a 91 switch assembly in the 90 will make no difference. Either way you need the resistor mod, in the case
