View Full Version : CP big bore 427 CDI pistons
Hello,
I am selling my CP pistons for a 427 big bore motor as I am building a bigger bore and can no longer use these.
Brand new condition CP 4.125 inch pistons, shallow dish which will give a 12:1 compression ratio with a 6 inch rod and a 4 inch bore. All are within 3 grams of each other (367 to 370). These are incredible pieces and are ready to go. There is no 8 to 10 week wait time. They are for the pistons only, no rings and no pins. See build sheet for specifics and please ask any questions you might have. Now $800.00 plus shipping in the US. Thanks

Very cool to see the big bore LT5's. Can you share what you will be building?
Hey Charlie :),
Sure. I have built a 402, 4 inch bore x 4 inch stroke. ported heads, heavily modified injector housings, stage 3 cams and a dog bone throttle body I pieced together during the build. It is finally up and running in large part to the few great people that know these engines very well, Marc and Arron and Jerry's gaskets. I have about 125 miles on it and am working out the tuning bugs but it is alive and well so far. It is a bear. Stock gearing in the rear. Stock wheels for now. Big brakes on all 4 corners, BEAR/Wilwood.
The LT5 is a far cry from the typical V8s of Detroit and it has been quit the learning experience. One small detail can hold you up for months as you sort it out or find a solution. I love it though.
I had the above pistons for a future 427 build, not knowing if/when I would ever find a 4.125 bore block. As luck would have it, I bought a 4.125 large bore block from a fellow member AFTER the 402 was together and am working on getting the parts together to make a 432 CID build with all of the above transferred to the new block. So I will be ordering new pistons for the new block and plan on a 4.145 final bore.

I recognize those. Those were ordered for the original big bore motor that AES did for me back in 2009. They messed it up and didn?t order the valve reliefs I specified. Therefore they had to order a new correct set. These were extras I sold back in the day.

Yes, you sold them to a member here, Kris, I got them from him. I assume you discussed with Kris the valve reliefs and they would work in his build.

Amazing group and talent here, every component has a story! Keep us posted on the new build and best of luck with it.
I did forget to mention Phil. he has been amazing as well and he does some spectacular work and has come up with some very inventive solutions.
