As announced during Carlisle, the Registry has been working with the original windshield manufacturer to replenish the stock of ZR-1 windshields, both large and small cutout. There are 2 available in Westminster, MD with the large cutout (early years) to whomever wants to come pick up...no charge. Note it was discovered that the location of the opening for the VIN number is about 1/2 high (see picture attached) on both windshields. You can still see the VIN when the windshield is installed. One of the two available windshields also has a very minor air bubble in the glass on the passenger side tint, hard to see unless you are looking for it and as we were in charge of QC, we were looking!
So while they are not 100% perfect, they are free to the first 2 who post up and are able to pick them up from Westminster, MD. We are still waiting for the release of the corrected units to Safelite. I understand they will make 30 each of the large and small cutouts in the first batch so keep in contact with your local Safelite.

Thanks for posting Charlie! Glad to see more movement. I need the small cutout for my ?95, but would jump on it if I had a ?90-?92! I?m just set on having mine correct in that respect.
Thanks!

Charlie, I didn't see photos attached to your post. I've got a friend in Westminster who could pickup, but I'm not sure how I'd get it back to TN so I'll hold off on requesting one for now.
Is there a P/N to give Safelite when trying to order (when available)?
Thanks for your efforts!

Hi Mike, I do not have a P/N but somebody else checked with their Safelite and was told they were listed as pending in their system. For all those who are interested, please be sure you are a member in good standing and renew your membership if you have not already done so.

This is a picture of the opening for VIN, it is a 1/2 low.

Assuming wfot is renewing his membership, both windshields are spoken for.

Per our conversation, I?ll take the second one and yes, I?m a member and already renewed my 2024 membership. I?ll have a friend pick it up.
Can you post a photo of the date stamp and logo? I am curious as to how it compares to an original.

I have been told that the production units will have the correct markings but the test fit units we received did not have them as they just wanted to confirm the fit.

Understood, thank you for the reply.

Hi Jim, the two sample test fit windshields with the defects are gone but the corrected ones should be available through your local Safelite very soon. Am trying to get an update when they will be in stock and will post up as soon as we have confirmation. Hang in there, we are very close.

I have a 1990 that has severe de lamination issues. If there is still one left, I would take one. Just would need to sort out coming to get it. In OH.
Just saw the update they are gone. Glad to know they will be with Safelite soon. Thanks for taking this project on.
