Hi,
Is there anything a U.S. seller needs to account for if selling a car to someone in Canada? Any extra paperwork on the sellers end?

From my experience........if you are buying a car from Canada you have to have the car inspected crossing the boarder. I bought a Canadian ZR-1 with no inspection driven to where I met the driver in CA. I had to drive back to the Canadian boarder for physical inspection to get it registered in the USA.
Also.....Canadian cars have to have running (daytime) lights operational since 1990......
This requirement states that every car sold in Canada must be equipped with automatic and non-switchable daytime running lights. In North America, Canada was the first country to require daytime running lights on vehicles. Since 1990, the law has mandated that all new vehicles either made or imported into Canada must have daytime running lights.
I do have non-switchable daytime running lights on the 95' ZR-1 I bought from the guy in Canada.

Interesting. Thank for the information.
It's not a big deal going in either direction. The shipping company looked after mine. Just signed the paperwork and it was done.
