Super 44 rear gear ring gear bolt size

Hi guys
I'm looking at buying a 3.90 gearset and it is listed as having 7/16" ring gear bolts (instead of the standard 3/8" bolts).


Am I correct in my understanding that the 7/16" bolts will fit in my 91?

If your differential carrier is original the ring gear bolt holes are for 3/8" bolts. The 3.90 gear set you are considering was intended for later Dodge Vipers that also came with Dana Super 44 rear ends with differential carriers drilled for 7/16" ring gear bolts. In your case if the dif is original easiest fix would be to have a machine shop ream out the carrier ring gear bolt holes to fit 7/16" bolts.
