View Full Version : Coolant hose network issues looking like a pain

Wondering if anyone has a solution for our ZR-1 specific coolant hose to thermostat setup, INCLUDING the connections. The coolant return connection to thermostat housing is leaking on me, so I just ordered a new replacement part off Jerry?s. It is most likely going to involve removing the housing to remove the old part and install. Then I got to looking at the other connection and I do not believe there is a direct replacement available. Hoping someone has found a workaround to these connections including the line set up going to the surge tank.
Someone has to have tackled this problem already. Oldest cars turned 33.

Well I got some views, but no insight just yet. Perhaps I am approaching this the wrong way. Has anyone considered what their options are when, not if, one of the hoses that is a part of an entire assembly no longer manufactured for the thermostat housing and surge tank burst?
The only thing that comes to mind is take the whole assembly and ship it off to Classic Tube as a template and pay a decent chunk of cash for a reproduction of the assembly.

Or, is this the part you are referring to?

Looks like it is the third picture. It is the whole assembly of rubber hoses crimped into metal hard lines that meet together in front of the surge tank and run along the passenger side skirt down to the overflow bottle and thermostat housing.

Thanks for the pic. The hot and cool coolant to heater connections were my main focus. Looks like the cool side could be a heater hose of appropriate size slipped over it with a clamp or two, maybe. The hot side could be a threaded barb of the right size to accommodate a heater hose.
