View Full Version : I have the J55 RPO, but pretty sure I have the 12" rotors installed

Need to replace the front rotors/pads/calipers, as I had the car pull to one side during a recent drive. Only happened once, but this kind of issue won't just magically go away.

Looking at my RPO codes, I see J55 listed, which are the heavy duty brakes. Everything I've read, this means it includes the 13" rotors in the front. But I think this car has had the rotors replaced with standard 12" rotors. Pic below of my wheel for reference. Please don't judge too much for the dirty car.

If I go to replace everything with the J55 stuff, do the caliper brackets line up, or are things different? Suspension codes are FE1 and FX3, so I do not have the HD suspension.

I knew I was having a heck of a time finding the right parts for some reason, and if the HD rotors were replaced with standard rotors, this would make sense.

Yup, at the very least those are the wrong rotors. Without better photos it looks like the Calipers are correct. All ZR-1's had J55 standard..

I?d venture to say your brake pads are half hanging off that rotor!

Everything will line up. Do you need a complete front J55 setup? I have the original equipment that I removed from my car when I upgraded.

He might just need the right size rotors and pads. Calipers could very well be correct already. that would make this an easy fix.
