Interesting but it doesn't seem to offer much love for the ZR-1s. His favorite C4 is an '89 convertible? Really? When ZR-1s are so much better and not much pricier? Oh well, some folks are just not real car guys. --Bob

I personally like the '89. 6 speed, disco dash, pre air bag interior, round tail lights. From the design intent of Jerry Palmer in combination with goals of the ZR1 group, the DR1 is the ultimate C4. A B2K with Callaway bodywork is the only other contender for the era. George.

I don't know Bob, sounds like you are saying there's no true Scotsman. Can real car guys not have sentiment for a car they grew up with? Must they be robotic number crunchers calculating the peak price/performance at all times?

Anyways, the article is not bad. It reads to me like its intended audience is my generation or younger. Feels like its trying to raise awareness that getting into a C4 is really not expensive and there is some selection as far as features and performance go. Not sure about their outreach though, seems like anybody interested in reading that article will already be in the know.

Sorry--No offense meant to true Scotsmen. In fact, my grandfather was one--a Campbell no less. But what you say is true--there are many more folks who just like the more mainstream cars and do not get into the most powerful or more exotic engines like I do (and a few others here). And as others have mentioned, if what first catches your eye as a teenager was an '89 convertible, then probably that is one you will lust after. --Bob

I think that every article that is published by media with good reach and that has a positive sentiment about the C4 counts.

And thinking about Hagerty also must include what Cammisa does. Just think about his congenial video Cadillac C5 Black Wing vs M5 Competition vs Model S Plaid. Not to mention the ZR-1 video he did - well known to most of us.
Their media efforts are good and for sure they reach a "vulnerable" crowd of guys who are not too much aware of a C4's benefits and might become infected.

So... I hope they stay on the topic and maybe develop even more passion for the C4.
