Hi - I just purchased a 1992 ZR-1 (49k miles) and am looking for a reputable mechanic to go through the car, change fluids, charge the AC, etc. I am in Stamford CT and leaning toward taking it to a Chevy dealer for this first service. I?d like to stay as local as possible (Corvette Center and Corvettes of Westchester are a little far). The car is in great shape - no mechanical issues other than AC. Hopefully this is the correct thread and someone with a C4 can provide a recommendation. Thanks in advance!

Stay AWAY from the Chevy dealer!!!
And I mean any Chevy dealer. They don't have a clue.
Your car was born before any of the mechanics who work there.
Take an extra few minutes of driving and go to Corvette Center in Newington!
Ray Zisa will take good care of you!

Would you still recommend Rays shop for more involved repairs, such as tracking down an oil leak etc?

Yes, I'd recommend him for anything.
While not a ZR-1 specialist, he's very familiar with them
and he's got Marc's number...

Search is your friend on oil leaks. More often than not oil leaks are related to loose oil pan bolts, with the ones at the front the hardest to get at. But it can be done--lots posted here and on Marc's website as well. --Bob

Thanks for the replies. I did look at Marks .pdf on oil leaks. The site also has great info.

Ray actually owned my 93 Ruby Z for abit in 94. I called him, having never met him and he gave me some history of my car. Very knowledgeable and really nice guy. I?d certainly give him a call. Actually considering a day trip for a fluid service myself.
