Drove home from a car show last weekend and when I got home and turned the engine off, I noticed the A/C - Heater fan was still running. Tuned the key back on and tried the controls on the dash, but made no difference. Turned ignition key off and removed key. Fan still running. Had to disconnect the battery.
Any advise on where to start looking. 1990. #2774

May be a bad blower control module. It's on top of the blower box on the passenger side. May also be the blower motor relay.

Thanks CamP.
Got to start somewhere. Until l get it sorted, l will have to disconnect the battery each time l stop. PITA.

You can pull the power supply connector on top of the blower case. That's a lot easier than disconnecting the battery.

Spot on!

The ac fuse may not stop the blower. The blower is wired directly to the battery through a fusible link. The power feed to the blower control module is always hot.

Same thing just happened to me yesterday when going to a car show-man those things are hard on the cars! What was the fix here? Just getting ready to dig in today.

My 87 w/C68 did this. The blower motor control module fails in the "on" position and runs until the battery drains.
It looks like this; https://www.ebay.com/itm/196303922779?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=R0Wd7u42Tim&sssrc=2047675&ssuid=90jIciV_QOK&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
The non-C68 cars have a Blower Motor Resistor which looks very different.

This is a 2 year old thread. The end result was bought a new control module/resistor as per Scorp508 link to EBay site. Put it in, 2 minute job, and problem solved.

Interesting information: my car is a May 91 build car and had the 92 Delco 16061602 control module, not the 91 GM 12368387 module. Also does not have the 5A AC fuse. Given I?ve owned the car for 24 years, guessing this is how it was built. 20417204182041920420

And the module was the culprit. NOS from eBay.

I got one a year or so ago off fleabay listed for a Jeep Cherokee (exact same thing as for the GM cars) and it was maybe $13 shipped to me. No Corvette tax, exact replacement, 3 pin, works flawlessly.
For what it's worth, I just looked at the original one I took out (don't know why I kept it) and it is stamped Delco on it with a part number, then underneath that it says Japan, where it was probably made.

That?s right, I was trying to think what make/model car had the same unit, but it escaped me. 🤔 It was Jeep Cherokee.
Same, mine all good since replacing 2 years ago.

Anyone have a link to the replacement part. I am looking at a 16061602 part number but not finding one online anywhere. Looks like the PN may have changed to 12368388. Can anyone confirm. The part looks way different than the original.

Thanks for the link and the info but this does not look anything like the one that came out of the car. Have you used this one before? Mine had two connectors and this appears to have one.

That?s weird. Went back into it as per my directions and it gave me a different selection of items. I scrolled down to the bottom, and you can choose a Make. Choose Jeep and there it was. Hope this works.
Ps. Yes it should have 2 connector plugs.

I've been fighting this same problem for a few months.
Recently I noticed my wiring harness is the same as yours pictured Starman with 3&1 contacts as opposed to the 4 & 2 contacts on the BCM.
I have a Jeep unit ordered and am crossing my fingers that it works.

Did the jeep module fit your car and work? Same problem on my car today?
Thanks.

I purchased mine through eBay. This was the link. The unit worked fine but it did need minor modification. I had to swap my cooling fins on the OE part with the replacement. The replacement fins were too large to fit the opening. The plugs matched up perfectly and it has not been a problem since. If you do this swap, be sure to try and retain as much of the adhesive. It is also a heat dissipative as I understand it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/155807804570?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=m6KCElczSJC&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=g4J1LdmYSaq&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
It was a relatively easy swap.

I purchased the Jeep module off of Amazon and it works. Mine fit with no modifications. The holes didn't line up exactly, but that's not a big deal.
