As is common on the 1990 model year the power switch is broken and all parts missing.

Does it make a difference if the contacts are open or closed when car is equipped with the Haibeck chip for secondaries to operate?

Do I need to splice the wires together behind the switch or just leave them open as is?

If switch was operational, what positions are open and closed?

I think you can bypass the key with the PROM. Maybe Marc will reprogram it for you.

I have a Haibeck chip and it completely bypasses the power key. So I wouldn?t think the switch being wired or broken makes a difference

Do you have a 90? I could be wrong but I think Marc can program key on on 91-95

My 90 is wired behind the bezel and the key does nothing

The Haibeck chip is not able to program the key on a 1990, only 91-95. I recently installed a Haibeck chip on my 1990 and sometimes the key switch contacts on mine can be a little touchy so it needs a slight bump to put it back into full power.

When wiring a bypass behind the bezel, does that continually light the "Full Power" light on the dash as well?

The car is a 1990 with a 1991 engine with a 1991 Haibeck chip. . No full power light comes on. I think I will twist the wires together and see what happens.

Power switch wires spliced together. Full power light came on. But no full power.

If you have a 1991 chip in the computer and the car is a 1990, the key evens shorted won?t work. You need the 1990 chip, power key is different connections between 1990-1991

Jeff, I discovered that fact too. I installed a 1990 chip from South Georgia Corvette and did achieve full power, a few times. Then threw 55 code. See my thread on won?t hit rev limiter. I think I?m going to name this car the onion. I peel back one problem and that uncovers another problem.
