Need to add a little bit of R12 freon to my 1992.

What is a source and/or part number for the high pressure valve refill adapter?

The valve appears to be inset deeper.

Thanks in advance.

Freon is added to the low pressure side.

The adapters I bought from ebay require the removal of the oem valve inserts. Your R12 charge would not survive that process unless you fully evacuate the gas and re-charge your system with it.
Not sure if there is another adapter option that hooks up on the oem valves keeping them open.

FYI - adapters to use on 1992 high pressure side port

- Santech R12 high pressure port adapter for GM Deep Access 1991 & later
part no.: MT0436

- Mastercool part no.: 90338

per Marc Hailbeck the ZR-1 Specialist uses:
- use R134a refrigerant service port adaptor
AC Delco part # 15-30419 or GM part # 52467941

- use R134a gauge set

Can these be installed with the oem valves in place? Would be a much besser option than mine!

Matt,

The Santech MT0436 is an R12 adapter "GM Hi Side Deep" 1/4" x 3/16", which screws directly into the R12 hi side deep port valve. The other end of the adapter connects to the R12 test set hose.

The adapter can be left on permanently as the test set side has a Schrader valve. I put mine in my glove compartment.

Hope this info helps. Attached photo of the adapter and the invoice from ACKits.com

Great, thanks! I'll have to find one here. Didn't know these exist.

R12 freon hi & low side levels were good.

Problem was heat leaking into A/C air. Probably a bad heater door seal?

Solved by using the Recirculate setting and vent air gets down to mid 40's whereas vent temp was 58.
