I just ordered a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires from Costco. 275/40R17 for the front and 335/35R17 for the rear. They had a $150 discount for purchase of 4 Michelin tires so out the door cost $1486.56 including mounting, balance, road hazard insurance, and discount. I know there are less expensive tire options out there but they are getting hard to find.

Looks like a solid deal for great tires. For a comparison, I bought Nitto NT555's from Discount Tire (275/40R17 and 315/35R17's) which cost me $1162.02. I paid about $220 for an alignment right afterwards.

That is a good deal, but I see it requires an install. Are you running factory sensors? I'd worry that an unaware Costco tire changer would break them, perhaps even with a heads-up. I wonder if I could order the tires, and when it's time to have them installed, show up with my van, just throw them in the back and go.

Yes you can order the tires and decline the install which will save you $79.96. The first time I replaced tires I spoke to the manager and told him about the tire sensors and if he broke them Costco would be responsible. After everything was done he told me he had good news and bad news........told him to give me the good news..........they did not damage the sensors.............give me the bad news.............you don't have any! One of the previous owners took them out as well as the bulb on dash.

I also talked to the Costco manager and gave him this diagram. He said he was familiar with those style sensors. I kept an eye on them through the open garage door. Next time I will take the sensors off.
I brought just my wheels to them because I was afraid they would not put the car lift pads in the correct locations under the car. I had a '94 Camaro and a tire shop bozo deformed the undercarriage that way.
