Morning fellow Registry members:

We are pleased to report that the date for the 2022 Gathering has now been established as Thursday, May 5 to Saturday, May 7 with the welcome pizza evening being Wednesday, May 4. Look for details including a draft agenda and Holiday Inn block information in Heart of the Beast edition #58 due out around the end of February.

You will note that this is a week earlier than we traditionally hold the Gathering. We were not able to retain the traditional week because of unavailability of the NCM Motorsports Park (MSP) during the latter part of the week of May 9.

Having missed 2020 and 2021, we know that a lot of us are looking forward to Gathering this year. I hope to see old friends and meet new members in May.

Thank you all for your patience as we worked with the NCM and MSP to maximize the fun factor for us all at the 2022 Gathering.

Well, sorry to hear that. I had been looking forward to the Gathering this year during the weekend of May 11-14, but I will be out of town that week so will not be able to attend. I hope everyone enjoys the get together! --Bob

Evening all:

On behalf of the board, I am pleased to convey that we now have a draft agenda for The Gathering 2022. Details, including the block code for the Holiday Inn (University Plaza, Wilkson Trace) in Bowling Green, will be in the Heart of the Beast (HotB), edition 59 due out in the coming days.

We hope that everyone can make it in time for the welcome reception scheduled from 6-11pm on Wednesday, May 4 at the Holiday Inn. The reception has been a great way to kick things off in the past, and it will be again in 2022. While details will be in the HotB, note that we do have a full day planned for Saturday, May 7, so we'd encourage everyone to plan on taking in the full Gathering from Wednesday evening to Saturday evening inclusive - you will not regret it!

Thank you again for your patience. We did have some new challenges with the planning for this year's event but I believe the program we have will make for a fun week. We look forward to seeing you in Bowling Green in May.

I was able after a few tries to register, but just as a heads up the Registry store is moving the street name and number to the second line, which causes an error saying there is a problem with the address when clicking into PayPal to check out. I?m not sure what I finally did but after a number of attempts it finally took the address and processed the payment (touring laps).

Had the same problem. At first I thought I was doing something wrong but I believe the Registry store is burping at the wrong time. Hopefully, an easy fix; otherwise a bit frustrating.

After the gathering we'll be heading to New York by car and planned 1 stop over so we'll arrive in NY on monday. What would you recommend where so stay and which route to NY is preferable?
My idea was to stay in Washington for a night. What do you think?

well I won't be able to make trip to the gathering this year. Some family

Made it home 10:30P after drag racing (but I only had to get to Nashville area :))

Great fun at the Gathering, amazed at the hospitality and camaraderie being my first time meeting everyone almost felt like I've been part of the group for longer..

Memorable moments:
1) pizza and beers Wednesday, meeting everyone for the first time
2) coaching from the left seat of 4 different member cars at NCMMP - thanks for allowing me to show you the track!
3) impromptu nickel tour of my garage for Chuck and Bonnie who unwittingly followed me to my house after the Lane Museum!
4) heads up drag racing against Mark Haibeck and reviewing the video from Mark Horner which revealed how much fuel is dumping out my tailpipes! (I'll be making the drive north at some point to get this 368 tuned better!)

Looking forward to next year already and hopefully some visits with members this fall.

I can only chime in to what Michael said. Amazing crowd, amazing hospitality and amazing overall vibe. Showed me again how lucky I can be to be part of that great community. Every single of the many people I spoke to was an interesting and great person. Not to mention those who offered me to drive their cars [emoji3]

Went home after the Lane Museum tour - Google maps indicated a 4 hour ETA to home - managed it in under 3. Traffic was light once I cleared Nashville. Final leg was the mountain roads near my house.

The best part of the Gathering was seeing everyone once again. A big highlight for me was track time - a huge thanks to everyone who made this possible and a very special thanks to Mikey for his instruction & tips (wish he could have been with me on my last 3 laps).

Made it home okay. Thanks to Bob, Mark, and Dennis for all their work in making BG possible this year, but most of all thanks to the team led by Jim (WAZOO) that turned a nightmare into an amazing experience.
After a smooth 10 hour ride to get to BG on Wed, the car developed a serious engine problem the next morning which turned out to be two dead primary fuel injectors. On Saturday under the leadership and technical knowledge of Jim (Maryland), with team members Paul (Missouri), Steve (New Hampshire) , Charlie (Maryland), Matt (Germany), Ernie (Georgia) and myself. We were able to finally get two new fuel injectors installed under less-than-ideal working conditions. The car made the 10 hour trip back to Maryland easily. Also Thanks to all who provided support. This is what makes the ZR-1 group the best in the Corvette world !!!THANKS!!!

One of the best Gatherings we?ve had! What a great group of people! Had the opportunity to spend time with so many neat folks and get to have fun with them. The bar was packed each night?. Quite a few late nights there. Super big thanks to Bob and Linda - they raised the bar on putting on events! Super couple I?m lucky to be on the board with (Bob). Also huge kudos to Mikey and Ray for sharing not only their driving experience with us during performance driving training, but best of all their passion. They made the track day a total experience for our first-timers and helped develop skills for those who returned to do it again. Exhilarating time on track for everyone. Another huge kudo to both Marc and Jim, who spent part of the Gathering helping others get their ZR-1s sorted out. I know Jim too long to know that he lives for this! His traveling tool kit might not be big, but has always had the right tools for every job! I had breakfast with Marc, who was excited about the opportunity to hunt down Charlie?s electrical A/C gremlin - he was really eager to solve the mystery! Made so many more friends this trip, from Dan Noble and his wife who documented the entire time for their YouTube channel, to Frank Ellis and his son Frank who I could have spent hours more talking with. Frank (dad) was a big influence in the C4 racing community, among other racing endeavors that Chevrolet supported - including testing the KOTH at all the tracks across the United States and Canada?. via the series called Corvette Challenge. The tours were a lot of fun, and Ted and Dennis turned me on to some awesome bourbons? not sure if that?s good or bad, but we had a lot of fun. Food was incredible at each stop - no disappointments?. Even the hot dog at Beech Bend taste great as a large group of us were cheering on all who drag raced that evening. Awesome to see Steve, Charlie, Marc, Mike and the FL Steve run. It was the perfect night as the track was sticky and temps were cool. All around great time - I really missed you guys!!!!

Yeah, whata bummer: Hangin' out with friends, fixin' cars, having some laughs and memories, fine eatin' and brewski's n BS for 3 whole days n nights! Oh! Did I miss something??? :dancing

It was one of the best gatherings - far as reacquainted w/ old friends and meeting new ones. We even saw ppl from Oregon and Canada and Germany!

My personal favorite activity was the track day. I learned a lot (more) far as what my Z and the tires (especially) could tolerate! One thing 4 sure...dem drag radials ain't no fun when it is raining (on the track especially!) After going maybe half of full-out on the curves and 'hair-pins' and breaking hard enough to trigger the ABS, one can really appreciate the engineering of our cars a LOT MORE than (I'd guess) 90%(?) of most Corvette owners ever appreciate. And, watching the C7 and C8s (lead cars, pro driven) run the route like they were immune to drifting - "like they were on rails" is the popular term.

Anywayz...it was a blast. Wish some of the rest of yaz coulda made it too!

I've seen Gordon do this out in the parking lot during one of the Gatherings. The guy had 6 of the fuel injectors go bad on him and a guy that I knew had a complete set of injectors with him as he had attended the ZR-1 school that Gordon ran before the Gathering and he3 changed them out because he could. The injectors were perfectly ok. You had ther A Team there that day.
