Yesterday a low mile black 90, two owner with only a few hundred miles brough 60K . Right behind it a 91 Quasar with 4000 miles sold for mid 50's , following it a black 92 with 388 miles sold for 56k . Today a 2012 ZR1 with only 8 miles in a charcoal color or possibly black brought 190 or 195 K. Even a really nice looking low mile red 87 Coupe hit 30 k. The resto mod high dollar C1 and C2 Corvettes are selling for well over 100 k. Many in the 150 and up range. Even really nice stock mid year C2's are in the mid 150's and not all big block cars. Prices are really going crazy. Today a yellow 1970 Hemi Cuda convertible was a no sale at 2.1 mil . The black active suspension ZR1 sold in the 70 k area . Check out some of the prices on their website.

The Z's are doing fine but the one I liked was the 1936 White 17 passenger bus from Glacier National Park. Restored in Red to the Glacier Park colors. It sold for $!.3 million. Go figure. --Bob

Hope u and Dede are feeling better Bob. I thought the bus was the most exciting part of Mecum. Totally unexpected.
I?ll pose this question here as I did on CF.

How do u think the Mecum results for the ZRs translate for higher mileage and modified ZRs? Or do they? Anybody think there will be a ?Haibeck? premium?

We're fine now Dom, thanks for asking. As to your other question, who knows? The prices for everything at Mecum seemed high so I expect that we will see a rise in all collector car prices including ZR-1s. Lately Resto mods have been bringing in the big money but I think that all-stock cars will always be valued highly in years to come. I think that an otherwise stock ZR-1 with Marc's 510 HP package will have more value all things being equal, sort of like Rosen or Yenko cars in the '60s, '70s. People in the know will value that I believe. When I had Marc do my '95 I had the engine painted as close to stock as possible, with the idea that maybe someday my otherwise relatively stock car would be able to fairly easily be re-configured for a Bloomington Gold evaluation. If the cats were put back on, the cutouts removed and the "Haibeck 350 510 HP" decals were removed it would look almost stock. But that's for someone else now. --Bob

I am still watching on DVR. Anyone know time and date of the ZR-1's running through? My DVD recorded out of order so I have kinda guess where I left off each time. I still (no offense to any dual Corvette/Viper owners) just have zero interest in any platform of the Viper. Don't understand it's appeal other than being a completely unique body. Again, just an observation not a critique.

This thread got me thinking about how many LT5's were modified by DRM, Marc Haibeck and other LT5 builders. I found out my car is a DRM500 (475hp) a while back. I had an email to DRM and asked about how many cars were done other than the eight Black Widow cars. She said that she forwarded my message to Doug Rippie and when she replied the response was "Doug thought 12 or more". I don't know how to setup a poll but it would be interesting to see how many of these cars are in existence or in the hand of forum members.
