Just picked this up a few days ago as a Christmas gift to myself. It is my first ZR1 and only has around 8100 miles on it. She's not perfect but very nice and runs strong. Thus far, the LT5 has lived up to the hype I've read about on this site. I've only had this car for a few days and I'm totally obsessed.
As other newbies have mentioned, I'm hoping to tap into the wealth of knowledge on this site. I have already reached out to Marc Haibeck about using his services and am hoping to have my car to him in the next few months.
Thank you in advance for any advice/assistance. I'm honored to be a part of this group.

Welcome! You are a lucky guy living in FBI land and in the area of the ZR-1 guru Marc. You have a beautiful ride, congrats!

Dude, it was like pulling teeth getting that car from the dealership. I basically had to keep the listing in my browser and refresh it every day, waiting for them to lower the price. Every time I would call and make an offer, the manager would say he's stiff on the price, then a couple days later they'd lower it. It definitely took persistence.
I wouldn't say I got a steal, but I think it's a fair deal given the current climate. As I mentioned, it's not perfect but it's close, and the LT5 runs very strong. Drove it home to Southern IL and it didn't miss a beat. I think the main thing is that I wanted it very badly and I bought it at a price I was OK with.

Thanks for the kind comments and welcome, folks. Here are a few more pics I snapped for insurance purposes. Two of the main things I was looking for were color (yellow or blue) and the five star (94-95) ZR-1 rims. Found both in this one.

Congratulations! Beautiful and familiar-looking. I watched that car for quite a while, too, I think - didn't it originate in a collection with a few other ZR-1s? I think the asking price for it was initially almost $50k. Looks beautiful and I'm glad that someone appreciative of it ended up with it. Yellow is my favorite color - I'm a little biased :)
Enjoy it!

I would guess no but can't say for sure. I think I know the one you are talking about and I was eyeing that too, though it was more than I wanted to pay for a ZR-1. The car doesn't appear to have been babied (like you would expect from a collector), in fact I think it sat outside for awhile. The interior is near perfect, it runs and drives like a new car, but it has been repainted it's original color at some point. The engine has some stains and the cam cover emblems have some deterioration. I'm nitpicking though. I love the car. As I mention previously, I'm obsessed with it.

Thanks, I love the yellow too. Always loved the IMSA GT cars. I see that you only deal with ZR-1s. We'll definitely be doing business at some point.
