Ran across this stuck to the side of an LT5 water pump box. Receipt was from May 1996.
I'm sure this place doesn't exist anymore. Map search now shows "Cam Stone's Automotive" at that address.1698116982

Wasn't this Jim van Dorn's place? The one who developed the Street Skinner.

Yup.
The 'ol Pirate Captain himself, God rest his soul.
i had the pleasure of knowing him and the honor of having him as a friend.
Sadly and tragically gone much too early, but not forgotten.
He singlehandedly helped keep the legend alive and well and to thrive.
He was an interesting fellow, a gentleman scoundrel with a heart of 24 carat gold.
He either liked you or he didnt.
There was no middle ground.
He spoke his mind and was nearly always right.
Save the advertisement, it's a piece of history.
If you're interested, read up on Pirate Racing and also about Thunder in Stillwater.
JVD and Hib Halverson were thick as thieves, and there's some fascinating and hilarious history of their exploits as well as the saga of Barney the Purple Dinosaur.
He was the proud owner of "The Weekendr" one of the original 8 Black Widow ZR-1s, an awesome and scary beast she was.

Yep that was from when Van Dorn was still in Palm Desert, California. He subsequently moved AutoMasters to Bowling Green. --Bob
I found this ad a while back and thought it was interesting what they were asking for a ZR-1 back in the day.
