OK, kind of a stretch for C4 ZR-1 general, but I think we can appreciate the Mercury engine ...

The SB4 has been around since 2016 as an automotive crate engine based on their water-borne engines. Notably for us, the SB4 is a DOHC engine: "The 32-Valve DOHC V-8 was designed, developed and manufactured in-house,"they say. What they don't say is how much they learned about aluminum DOHC 4 valve motors building the LT5s in their Stillwater OK MerCruiser plant. I don't know how physically big it is or whether it would fit in a C4 ZR-1, but it would be fun to see one done that way, sort of a semi-genuine Continuation ZR-1.... --Bob

Bob,
Its based on an LS7 block, so couldn?t be too hard a swap since LSx swaps are much more common today for C4s and there are kits for that. I think the hot setup for this would be a nice 84 Z51, a 3200lb coupe w 750hp. Would a roll cage to add more stiffness for the xtra torque.

Sexy and that fabrication to get that shoehorned in there must have been expensive. However looks hot!
