My quest for improving our 94 Z continues. I have been recommended to consider Ridetech by some since I have mentioned and asked around about the DRM coilovers.

It seems Ridetech is more or less bolt-on, no need for machining the shocks like with DRM. I also won't have to buy new FX-3 shocks since Ridetech comes all complete included sway bars.

So, if anyone here have this kit or have tried it I would appreciate some feedback.

We do not want a gokart stiff as hell ride but rather improved handling while keeping some of the comfort.

So this doesn?t accomodate the use of the FX-3 Bilsteins?

I don?t think the ride tech are cockpit adjustable. So you would have to manually adjust them before driving.

Yah, no! I can understand for the track, but driving around there are times I like to dial mine down or up.

Q:Plan on upgrading the suspesion on our 94 ZR-1. Is the HQ Single kit very stiff? We do not want to sacrifice all comfort and end up with a gokart, but we do want improved handling and feel.

Ridetech 11/11/21

A:It can be if you want it to be. That is the one of many advantages of going with Ridetech. These shocks offer 24 clicks of adjustment for the end user to decide what is soft, stiff and perfect. Typically you will arrive within a 2-3 click window, however you have a 24 click window to work with. You will also notice great improvements in the response of the suspension. Shocks are a big part, but let's not underestimate the self lubricating Delrin bushings that don't flex and compress like the factory rubber ones do. These features along with the improved sway bar design will make this car a completely different vehicle.

Thank You

I've been considering the Ridetech coilover conversion since last year. I emailed them the same general question of "I'm looking to modernize/upgrade the suspension, but it will never see track time...how is it for the street?" They didn't reply.

I'm still on the fence about coilovers, but the Ridetech's are at the top of my list due to everything that's included.

I cant speak for the C4 coilover kit BUT I can rave about the ridetech ( FOX) shocks. I ran them on my 68 C/10 restomod after getting the ride height set with standard KYB's the ridetechs were AMAZING in that truck!!

I just installed a set in my 99' FRC and set the range right in the middle, this car will be more of a daily driver so I need to back things down a bit to compensate for the poly bushings my father installed in the car back when it was tracked.

I just rebuilt the Callaway/Bilstein FX3 coilovers in my CR-1 to stay "as modified" 30 years ago, but I prefer the ridetechs.

After some thinking and brainstorming I think I will get an OEM leaf spring and keep it mostly stock. I have just purchased new FX-3 shocks and a complete SuperPro bushing kit which will improve handling. Power Stop Z26 brakes will also go under the car and a Dewitt two row radiator plus some other misc stuff.
