View Full Version : Tried Tooth Paste on My Engine?
And all I got was a nice minty smell under the hood. I used Canadian Arm And Hammer Extreme White, and my plenum ended up neither extremely white, or even noticeably better.
Seems some long discontinued Adam?s Polishes used to be recommended around these parts, but I?m wondering what folks are using now.

Tap water on the engine, nothing more.......Only Adams I use in engine bay is Adams tire shine for all the hoses.

On my first '90 ZR1, I had a few stains on my plenum and cam covers. I used some cotton balls and q-tips for the tight places along with a standard rubbing compound (I think Turtle Wax made it).... lightly rubbed in the compound with 1 cotton ball and cleaned it off with another. It darkened the current gray color just a bit but looked great. It had a nice sheen on it too.

As stated COLD engine and water,I've used diluted Windex for stains. Engine even remotely warm and it will stain.

I have used 3m rubbing compound on the valve covers and intake to remove stains and hazing. Worked pretty well.
