It appears that the rubber antenna bezel for our ZR1's are no longer available, but I am curious as to if anyone has found an acceptable replacement. Mine is torn, and beyond trying to make one, I was curious to know if anyone has found an acceptable replacement? Thank you.

No acceptable alternate I know of. I suggest reaching out to Mirrock Corvettes for a salvage part.

If someone can supply a spare I can investigate making a mold for reproductions in soft urethane.

Is there a nut? I though it was a rubber piece with circular notch to hook on to body panel.

The one I have is off a 91 it has a notch for proper alignment but it is threaded and held in place by a large nut assembly sorry don't know why the pic is side...
The parts book does show but not the nut maybe this is an aftermarket part, I just removed from the car today. Sorry this is some aftermarket part....

Is there a way the base car bezel can be modified to work?

I haven't tried but probably not. Reason being, relative to vertical (antenna), canting of the rear quarter side ways are different between standard C4 and ZR-1.
Image posted by We Gone looks to be for C4 between 84 to 87 based on google search image.

the one in the pic was on a 91 ZR-1 that I parted out it looked to fit right .. but the antenna was not on the car I have a standard C4 bezel and yes the slant is the same as the pic.
My bet is if the aftermarket antenna had been on the car it would have been canted as you stated.

Going to see if I can fabricate something from grommet material. I do have the standard C4 bezel coming, but also doubt that it can be properly machined to fit.

It's just one solid piece with reduced diameter opening to capture the top of antenna.
I swear I had one but can't locate it...

Looks like a mold could be made from an original with reasonable effort.

I've got one I just bought from Lee,have no idea what I did with it. Somebody with mold making experience could easily make these.

Phil, I would volunteer my bezel for the molding process if you were game. No one would notice it missing off my car :)

After having replaced the mast (had to remove antenna motor to remove broken plastic pieces), I decided to try using the standard C4 bezel. It works okay, but it sits a little high compared to the proper bezel. May try milling it down some to get a better fit. All in all, it isn't terrible.

Looks fine from here--I would just leave it and forget it. As I recall, pulling and installing the antenna is a pain. Unless you are an incredible perfectionist and are afraid an NCRS judge might notice, I would just enjoy your Z!--Bob
