Precast and I are at the Dragon. Two world-class sports cars representing high technology in their day 30 years apart. We are having a blast. I took a passenger lap with him and it was amazing the control. What is flying for me in the Z is two fingers for him! The new Mickey Thompson Street Comps are absolutely awesome and confidence inspiring when paired with the no flex bars. I highly recommend both.

Cool
Young1, you have the Vette 2 Vette no-flex bars? I'm considering these. And, you think these have made a positive difference?
Thanks

The bars and tires made a huge difference as we ran the Dragon 2 years ago with my 90 and Young 1's 1991 and the cars were close. This year this car was right with me with my C8. I followed most the time for 5 days Young 1's car tracked perfectly straight with almost no roll. Yes the Vette to Vette bars and the tires are great. Much stickier then the Nittos I had on my Z two years ago. The other thing is Young 1 has learned how to fix about anything on a ZR-1 if your near central Florida he will help you to fine tune your car. To add to it all he is a great guy to be with for 5 days of hard driving. Looking forward to doing it again very soon. Best to all and drive your Corvettes.

Thanks for the kind words. 5 things to make your stock ZR-1 turn and brake with confidence
A. Vett2Vette bars. (must keep targa on)
B. Mickey Thompson Street comp tires aired to 34 cold
C. Doug Rippie rear brake bias spring
D. Stainless braided brake lines. (You must throw away the old rubber ones anyway)
E. Inexpensive Power Stop brake pads. I have Z23 now but will upgrade to Z26 next. They are a pretty dust free pad too.
All suspension bushings and wheel bearings tight. All brake parts and fluid fresh.
I got out of shape about a foot only once on a rise which unloaded the rear suspension while braking and turning. The ABS did activate a few times also.
I will have a five point harness the next time. It is too hard to pull G with your upper body moving hanging on to the steering wheel.
Ground clearance with the bars is a non issue with stock height suspension.
