Greetings from Tokyo.

Last week I satisfied a lifelong itch and pulled the trigger on a Black 91' C4 ZR1-1. 25,000 miles.

The guy I bought it from was an aging surfer who had an entire collection of super cars for sale including a countach, diablo SV, f355 etc. I think he was going down financially.

Anyway I bought this thing but I know NOTHING AT ALL about it.

I have it parked on street and need to have it towed somewhere to get repaired and have rego put on it. It drives but is making a clunking type of sound when idling. That seems to disappear when you rev the engine. The thing probably hasn't been driven in a very long time.

Cosmetically it's incredible inside and out.

I would be extremely grateful for an intro to any ZR1 owners residing in Japan who could lend some valuable experience and help me get this beast on the road.

Many thanks,

AH :)

Thanks for the intro to Oyama San Jerry. The car is being towed to him on Tuesday next week. Will update with pics once she's road ready!

AH,

Congrats and welcome to the family. My Z is in Kamakura and there are several of us in various prefectures. I am on my way back to Japan in a few months to get my Z out of storage. You will see me posting on the Regional Japan site here. Hopefully we can meet in the future. Best wishes on getting your car sorted out by Oyama-san. Never did run into him all these years despite Kenji with his 95 is in Saitama too. Yoroshiku onegaishimasu.

Thanks Craig. Would love to meet up when you're in town. Hopefully I'll have this thing on the road by then and I can drive over to Kamakura.

Very nice and congrats to this beauty. As I experienced myself during this year here is the perfect place for ZR-1 enthusiasts and newbies. So much knowledge und help! Amazing people!

So cool to see a ZR-1 in Japan! And with its left hand steering wheel it's just made to spend its time on the right lane!

Enjoy your ride, once she rolls as she should it SO rewarding to drive a ZR-1.

You are welcome AH. Wow! You scored a beautiful Z and I love the wheels too! Our cars are both Black/Black. I am looking forward to meeting you. If you eventually make it over to the Facebook Registry I?ll introduce you to the other Z guys in Japan so you will have more contacts. Let me know if you need anything and I am happy to help. I have all the special tools to work on our cars and parts as well. Hajimemashite and Aloha! 🤙🏼 Craig
