Question on OBX headers

I bought a set of OBX headers and on the passenger side header there is a pipe that sticks out. Does anyone know what this is for? Air system? I was just going to plug it, but wanted to see what you guys think.

Smog air tube

The late model years (93-95) have an EGR valve and that is for the tube to connect to. If you have early model (90-92) with no EGR you can cap it off. If you have later model and you remove or do not use or need EGR you can cap it off.
