I wonder if anyone may be able to help. I have a Bose Radio CD Cassette unit that I purchased some while ago that does not work, other than the radio light coming on when I switch the unit on. The antenna does not go up, there is no sound when either a cassette or CD is set to play - however, both the CD and cassette do eject. I have another identical Bose unit in the car which works fine other than the CD, which doesn't play, a common problem I believe! When I install the unit that I purchased, nothing happens, apart from the light! So, it appears that everything else on the car is working and that the fault lies in the unit.
I live in the UK and, with postage and customs and duty etc, it's going to cost a fortune to send it for repair in the USA.
Does anyone have a repair manual for one of these, or any straightforward instructions on where the problem(s) may be? Also, if spares are required, is there a good source who will send me the parts?
Any help would be gratefully received!

Don't know if he can help with your particular situation, but Dr. Don is the "go to" guy for Bose systems.

I ship stuff from the UK, not that much. Send to Dr. Dons. Fix it right.

I have a company in Germany who is specialized in GM audio. They took care of my control head and CDM. Seems they did a good job, service and lead times are actually amazing.
Check out www.gte.de or better PM me if you need a direct contact. I paid 350 Euros or so for a complete overhaul of cassette deck and cd, replacement of various caps incl cleaning and restoration of circuits, etc

Not sure if they are as good as the Dr but can't say anything bad about them. Highly recommended in German Corvette forum, too...

Thanks for the replies.
Following Matt B's good experience, I have decided to request a quote from GTE Automotive in Germany. I will let the forum know how I get on, as it would be good to have a trusted European repairer for the Bose equipment in our cars.

I ended up using United Radio in New York. They were the only Company that I emailed who replied to me! Overall they were very helpful with great communications. The price was good and they shipped it back to my home in England. I've fitted it to the car and it works well.
