Tire Pressure Sensors

I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to test the the tire pressure sensors off the wheel. Gordon showed me once that if you shake it real fast that the crystal would generate enough power to activate it if the key was on. I did do that one time and it did work. Just wondering if anybody had a different take on testing them?



FYI,They did work after I replaced the tire sensor module in the car. However, I put another set of wheels on without the sensors and left them in the original wheels. I'm sending the wheels off to be refinished so I took them off.Just wanted to see if they still worked.

We used an electric vibrating sander. After removing the sand paper hold the sensor on the pad until the DIC lights up.

Tom, it worked like a charm. Initially, I thought they were bad but then I remember that it switches from service LTPWS to Low Tire Pressure. It had me going for a minute until I remembered that.
