Hello,
I am planning on removing my cam covers because they are leaking. The factory service manual says to drain the coolant so the coolant outlet pipes above the covers can be moved out of the way. Is this a requirement? It seems like I have enough room to take off the cam covers without moving these which would mean I don't have to mess with the coolant. Am I missing something? I am not pulling the plenum, only the cam covers. I also have the headers offs and the engine tilted if that changes anything.
Thanks,
Scott

Yes, I am aware of the evaporator cover and brake booster. My question is if the coolant outlets need to be removed like the manual states. If they don't, then I wouldn't have to drain the coolant, correct? I don't want to pull the plenum or mess with the coolant if I don't have to.

You have to pull the plenum to lift the compressor lines unless your going to recharge the Ac

Yep, right now I am leaning towards recharging the AC as I suspect the system is low and could use it anyway.
