Happy New Year all. There was a post on another forum requesting photographs of convertibles.
I have collected these shots over the years. The two photographs of yellow cars are of different cars. The '89 DR-1 inspiration is included for reference.
There were also narrow body preproduction convertibles built from what I understand.

They are all wide bodies. The first two had been posted for sale at some point. Both in Europe. The third started life as a std. convertible car, was widened and received a Jeff Jeal built motor. I do not recall where I got the fourth photo from. But you can almost read the card to the left. Last photo I took at the NCM many years ago.

very cool. thanks George. we can add a white 90 to the list. so far this post you started here is the most complete list ive seen. the dr-1 also should be here right? it was black / red. though my understanding is that it wasnt really finished in that it did not have a functioning soft top. that is only what ive read, it may not be true.

The last photo is of the DR-1 before it was sold to a private party. The DR-1 has a later motor in it, not the original.
Below is the Spider before is fell down a hole. Also the VIN for the DR-1. And a build sheet for another 1989 Z convertible in addition tot he DR-1 with EX number written on it.
I can not remember exactly what Callaway built. I do not recall Caravaggio having done conversions.
Good luck with your new car. George

HI George!!
Isn't the Yellow one the other George's car? Ed did that conversion right?
How many years ago did we meet at Del Rhea's Chicken Basket?

I think it is three years. Your projects never stop amazing me.
Yes, George's car. Now, with him, in Mississippi.
Trying at the moment to get my '99 back on the road.
Daughter hydrolocked the engine and the car was rear ended. All that is back together but a lot of loose ends to sort out. Effectively I am restoring a 21 year old Corvette. More money in the motor than the rest of the car is worth. Then back to the '89 project. The body panels are almost finished being made.
Just love the crazy stuff. My wife knits for her hobby.
Take care and stay well. George
