View Full Version : WTB: Any Chance Someone Is Selling A Blue ZR-1?

I recently sold one of my fun cars and have some money burning a hole in my pocket. I've wanted to buy a C4 ZR-1 for a while now and am actively looking.

My very favorite would be a 1991 - 1994 ZR-1 with good history. Mileage is not important if it is well-sorted. My very favorite color would be blue. What's the chance that someone would happen to have a blue ZR-1 they'd be willing to send to a new home where it would be loved and cared for (that's me)?

I live in Omaha, NE...so the closer to me the better, but I'm willing to buy from anywhere and go $30K+ for the right car. Thanks, Everyone!

This one is tourqoise metallic. Some say it?s blue some say it?s green but it is rare.

Thank you so much for the lead. I do love any color Z, so I'll keep this one in mind...but it is one of those secondary-preference colors for me. I used to have a 2009 jet stream blue ZR1 and a 2016 Laguna Blue Z06/Z07, so I would love to have a C4 in the quasar to admiral blue realm. I'm early in my search, so I'm going to keep looking for a while - until I find just that right one, or a deal I can't refuse comes along. Thank you, again!

There was a fellow recently in the Atlanta area that had a Quasar for sale on this forums marketplace. Does anyone reading this know if he sold it? I am yet in love with my Quasar.

Thank you, Young1, for jumping in. I've found a couple prospects. One is red with 24K miles and the other black with 29K miles. My impatience may get me to pull the trigger before I find a blue one, but I hope one comes around soon.

Sounds like you have a Quasar Blue Z. I know it's not for sale, but would you mind posting a pic or two. I'd love to see it and dream. Maybe it will scratch my itch for a moment or two and help me hold off for a bit longer...

Here are a few to choose from... none blue though. My personal favorite is Admiral Blue.

Thank you. I did see these. I was really intrigued by the 24000-mile red 1992 for under $22K, but it sold this summer :( I like the yellow one but have a couple other prospects with considerably fewer miles for a bit less money even...but I'm performing due diligence on them now to see if they are as advertised. Keep them coming, though!

That is an impressive specimen! I'm not a red interior person, but this particular Z has the perfect mods and appears to be very well-cared for. If I were to set my sights on a '90, this one would be in contention. Thanks for sharing.

Oh, my. That is gorgeous!!! While I love the C4, and particularly the ZR-1s, there just is no match for a Quasar Blue ZR-1. Thank you for sharing. So nice!

I just thought I'd quickly share a couple pics of my previously-owned vettes. You'll see why I'm so attached to Quasar Blue as being my color for the C4.

Blue is the way to go!!! I got lucky and stumbled across mine earlier this year :)

(Stumbled meaning I flew up the east coast and drove it back, but it happened to be available when I got the itch and here we are LOL)

Here is mine the day after I drove it down from NY with some local Wazoo owners

So funny. Attaching photos is a challenge on these forums sometimes for sure. Here's my email address: david@newdirectiontech.com - I'd love to see your ZR-1.

Since your not a Registry member yet, you probably haven't this in the latest issue of "Heart of the Beast" Note there are 2 Quasar Blue cars for sale in this ad. Although to get the one you'd have to buy the whole set. On the other hand they might just break up the set since the likelihood of someone buying the set is very low.

Ccmano - that was an incredible lead. The individual car listing from Heart of the Beast would?ve been THE PERFECT one, but the seller got back to me this morning and it is sold. I had my hopes up. Oh well. I?ll keep looking. I realize that cars like this are going to be snatched up by insiders before I get a real chance at them. If you wouldn?t mind keeping an eye out in the member?s magazines and newsletters and letting me know, I would greatly appreciate it.

A great idea, especially if you plan to get a ZR-1, is to join the ZR1Net Registry. Only $35 and the best source of help on ZR-1s in the world. --Bob

I went in yesterday to register at this URL:

https://www.zr1netregistry.com/Marketplace/RegistryStore/ProductDetail/tabid/239/rvdsfpid/new-membership-2019-25/Default.aspx

Since the sign up form asks for VIN number reference for the ZR-1, I figured I'd have to own the car first -- before I could join. If that's not the case, I'll certainly sign up. I'll go try again. Thank you.

I got so very close on this one. Missed a quasar blue ZR-1 by only a couple weeks. Found two other very good prospects in the process, but I thought I'd give this post a quick bump just to do one more pass here on the forum for the blue ZR-1 before I pull the trigger on one of the other vettes.

I'm willing to go $30K+ for the right car. Thanks all!

30K ? ..Been on top of price ranges on these cars since I bought mine in 2014....Prices have varied on these cars from the typical super low mile ones to the low teens for fair condition and high miles...

If I was to pay 30 grand now for a Z it better be top notch....Either that or it better have Pete's 391 in it...

Yes, they are classics right now and qualify as such when insuring them...A stock low mile Z for 30 grand seems like the type of car you would want to leave alone and just take to the occasional car cruise .....That's fine if that's your intention...If the intention is to use it a lot and modify it than there are a decent amount of Z's for less than 30 grand out there....

You should be able to land a nice looking blue Z for less than 30 grand..

Thanks for the note and reassurance. I did find a super nice 1991 black on black with only 12k miles, clean CarFax, two tops, etc. I can get it in the low 20s, but before I fully committed, I wanted to check one last time for the quasar blue one. I am willing to spend more now if it was enough to convince someone to sell. I may just buy the 12k-Mile black one and enjoy that one for a while and wait for the blue one to coma along.

I'm the fair weather cruising kind of guy. I won't modify or race the car, but I'll put a few thousand miles on it in a year.

Thanks again for the note and watching out for a fellow enthusiast!

Well, you have a point. :) I could see myself updating the stereo to something with Apple CarPlay and maybe the exhaust. I had both of those updates on my Audi R8 and they made that car go from great to fantastic!

I agree--Of the two blues, Quasar was my preference as well. I actually got my Quasar Blue '93 somewhat by accident. I was looking for a couple of other colors in my search back in 1994 but the Quasar one came up at a good price, had few miles and a reputable seller. Turned out it was also a rare color in 1993, and that was the last year for Quasar among ZR-1s. I ended up happy.--Bob

I absolutely love that quasar blue! Thanks for posting pics - although it's just teasing me more. I did find a 12k-mile black on black ZR-1 that I'm very excited about. I got a fantastic price on it...hoping to have it delivered right after Christmas.

I found my ZR-1 and couldn't be more excited. Just received it today. 12,100 miles on the odometer. Well sorted, but needs a good detailing. I'm looking forward to that - she's gonna get a lot of love from this day on. Thanks to everyone for input and information that led me to this beast!
