996 finally made it back home today. Spent way to much time in the hands of an incompetent mechanic, but now she seems to be running just fine again.

The bonus? A couple of days in the 50s in the next five days. So yes, a few drives before she goes away for the winter.

Happy 4 U Erik!! Yeah, there are a lot more mechanics out there that see the ZR-1 as their personal "scratching post" to quench their curiosity on. Good to have 'er back, I'm sure!!!

Now stretch her legs B 4 Canada enters 'the dark side'!

It?s supposed to hit 50 degrees or near enough to a few times in the coming week, so that good enough for me to give her a run. Not warm enough to run my aged tires too hard, but at least cruise around a bit.

Change out the tires this Spring. Don?t take any chances with the beast! I use Michelin?s.

I definitely will. The previous owner bought them five years ago, so I figured we were good. Included the receipt and all. Turns out by the build date that they are 10 years old now, so likely sitting on the shelf somewhere for 5 years before he bought them. Didn?t bother to check the date, as the tires looked perfect. No cracking or anything. Likely good storage has helped them.

However, while I don?t mind puttering around the area a bit, I certainly won?t try driving on them hard!
