1993 40th anniversary Z #182 just got a new home
Nothing like a Ruby Red Z. Looking forward to spinning my own wrenches and getting some advice from all the members here. I presently own a 2016 Z06 M7 and a 2016 ATS-V coupe. Both are incredible cars but after owning a few C4's over the years, and always wanting a Ruby Z, I had the opportunity to purchase one. 22k on the clock, all original and complete history. The injectors, vacuum lines etc, starter are all original so I'm sure a plenum removal will be in the future, but at the moment, the car runs perfectly. Also, very mild windshield delamination. Original owner never let the car sit and drove it about 800 miles a year. With all the experience of the membership on this forum I feel very comfortable that whatever problems arise, I can get help here. Thanks in advance

Hi Bill,
Congrats on the Ruby Zee!
You may be surprised and not need to pull the plenum for awhile. As you may know, injector replacement is mainly confined to the early years (90~92). For 1993 models & up, ethanol tolerant injectors were installed. If you do encounter a miss or stumble, I suggest trouble shooting ignition issues first.
Also, should you desire to replace plug wires at some point, keep your original wires with LT5 stenciling. They are no longer available and even used ones are expensive.

Thanks Jerry, if any of that arises I'll be looking here for some solutions and advice and putting in a parts order with you. I did not know that about the wires. I'll def keep them if they ever need replacement. Great community here.

Thanks Marty! Actually we have met before. I bought my 2007 Lemans Blue Z06 from you in March 2011. It was a great purchase and we enjoyed it for several problem free years before upgrading to the C7Z a few years ago. I always check you site as you own some gorgeous cars.
What a small world. Let's get 181 and 182 together to meet! Definitely worth a short road trip. Be great to see you again.

I bought my Ruby Z from the engineer that designed the Multec injectors for the 1989 Z's. He told that the original injectors for the 93 were ethanol proof as he designed them. I haven't had a problem with them at all unlike my 92 Z.

Good Driving!

Mine is #334. I have 48,000 on it now. I bought it with 36,000 on it. It had a lot of issues with it that kinda begs the question why an engineer would let it happen like that.

Ruby #385 Hopefully we have the Gathering in 2021 maybe we can get a picture of some Ruby's lined up. The ZR-1NET registry is a great community. I feel privileged to be part of it. I social distance in my Z every chance I can get.13605

I would love that! There's a guy in Louisville, KY that has a 40th Z. If the Grand Sports guys can do it, why can't we? I'm just hoping that we can have a Gathering next year.
