front plate with splash ZR-1

I had this front plate made for 1990 corvette with the ZR-1 splash on it.
This display plate is molded in white with the splash done in red for show.
You can paint it what ever color you want.
If anyone wants one for a 1991 - 1995 , waiting for a 1991 front original
front plate so i can have it scan for 3D.

I only have 9 so far, $85.00 ea includes shipping.

Is the ZR-1 splash embossed or decal? Trying to figure painting black with red letters

The ZR-1 splash is recessed into the the body of front plate. You could paint
the plate then paint the splash.
I just returned from the 3D print office and he said the front 1990 and 1991-
1995 should be done in less then two weeks.
To receive your splash plate PM me with your name, address to send to,
year of car (1990 - 1991-1995) and how many you would like.

believe 1991 thru 1995 corvette front bumper's are all the same.

I do not have the type of "plastic" that is used to make the front plates. I
will call Monday to found out. The finish is smooth and the ZR-1 Splash is
recessed into the front plate.

Looks very nice, I like the idea of the splash. I have the original ZR-1 style in my front cover.

I assume the provisions are on the bottom for mounting, are the hole already there or do they need to be added?

My best guess on material would be ABS but I will wait to hear back from you

The ZR-1 Splash front plate was made from my org. 1990 front plate. So the holes line up with the bumper. I installed this ZR-1 Splash on my 1990 Zr-1
and if fits perfectly.

Mine arrived today, just had a chance to open the box and see what it was but from a VERY quick look, seems like a quality job and might lighter than the stock filler. Who is painting their plate solid and who is going to fill the ZR-1 with another color (and how did you do it?):fahne:

I plan on painting the front plate the same bright red on my 90 and dust in the ZR 1 splash with an air brush with a darker red. The dusting will be like a ghosting application with a satin finish.

As I said, got mine Saturday, looks great . Question, how much effort and cost would it be to do the 91 style with a standard font but a large ZR-1 , not in the splash style... I would like the option to change it when I want less "flash".

You could take your front plate to a 3D print company and have them make
a copy of it with what ever you want on it. They make one for you, but i
don't know what they would charge to due this. Sometimes you have to make
a run of 10-20 pieces or more to keep cost down.
When i had the 1in spacers made for the LT5 it cost $150 to make them.
The front plate i had made will fit C4 corvettes 1991 thru 1996 as the front
bumpers are all the same. The front plate for the 1990 C4 corvette will fit
all front bumpers from 1984 thru 1990.

I having mine done body color, and the ZR-1 filled in black. Taking it to the same people that painted the car. They've known this was coming for a few years, I just needed the filler. :thumbsup:

Looks great! Did you prep and paint it yourself? I found I had to 400 sand mine and add some glazing putty to even out texture from the printer, then I 2k Primed it and sanded again. It was worth it overall, I am leaving mine one color although I was temped to make the letters black.

Hi, I listed how I did it above. The plates ARE NOT ready to paint when you get them. The printer puts little groves and swirls in them. You MUST take fine glazing putty over them , sand the, down with 400 dry, then 400 wet. I used high build 2k primer, twice, wet sanding in between, then used shop primer, then did two light coats of Axalta Base, and 2 coats Axalta clear. Definitely requires good material to paint.
