Hi all,
Does anyone know the history of this car?
https://www.edmunds.com/chevrolet/corvette/1991/vin/1G1YZ23J4M5801332/?radius=6000
It's what I call a Hulk Hogan Mobile, yellow ext. w/ red int. I can't imagine many of these were made across all year models. Do we have any data regarding how many were made?
Looking through the pictures of the car, the owner has gone to great lengths to ruin the car, but who knows, maybe its salvagable.
Thx.

Sounds like a hard no, avoid like the plague. Thx all.
So I made the 25 hour 1000 mile round trip to buy this car from the winning bidder at the Mecum Auction. I was impressed when I saw the car in person. The interior is much nicer than in the pictures. The decorative wrap on the dash and door components looks amazing in person. I loaded the car on the trailer without driving it and headed home.
I had to work today about 60 miles from my house. Why not take the new car!
Warmed it up, wiped the windows off and headed out!
Turns out the car has an aluminum flywheel, 4:10s, a short shifter, and doesn?t have a factory windshield and of course a 421.
I put 100 miles on today. No lights, no issues. I added a quart of oil prior to heading out. So far so good. I give it a huge thumbs up!

Glad it came here. That car has had good modifications. Also, some good maintenance in the last year.

You know some history on this car? Appears to be a repaint, I only say that because the door strike pins still are yellow. New tires, killer brakes! 38,800 miles currently.
I do know the cheapest way to get a 441 is to start with a 421!

Also note the front bumper does not have the black between the fog and side lights. Still a real ZR-1 and neat car.

Turns out this was yet another Black on Black turned yellow! Black on Black is my favorite but having two yellow Zs that are yellow starting out Black is a bit much lol.

Turns out this was yet another Black on Black turned yellow! Black on Black is my favorite but having two yellow Zs that are yellow starting out Black is a bit much lol.My recently sold '91 started out turquoise, was immediately painted black by the original owner (I was told), then I had it painted yellow after buying it in sad exterior shape. To me, "my" C4 just had to be yellow. :-)
Huge shout out to Pete for the fresh 441 that I just got broke in! After 500 miles of 3500rpm or less I recently changed the oil and had a chance to test it out today. I have to say it?s a little scary. The car now has stock 3:45 gearing, coil overs, and Pete?s fresh 441 installed. I have been blessed to have experience with a Henderson 368, a Doug Rippie 385, and the 421 that came in this car. I wanted a 441 so after realizing the 421 in the car drank oil like I drink beer, I made the decision to have Pete build me a fresh 441. I highly recommend Pete?s work! I am extremely pleased with the outcome. I now have about 1000 miles on the car since the build. A 441 pulls like a freight train! No traction control in a 91 didn?t allow me training wheels. I love it. High 5 Pete!
