After years of grit and perseverance and LT5 power Dave Hlebichuk set a new C/GT record of 230.584 mph at Bonneville in his 1990 ZR-1. Congratulations to him, the team, and everyone else who contributed to this outstanding achievement!

Been following Dave for a while. If you got a bunch of time to spare, the thread is an amazing one to read.

I thought it incredible how steady he held the steering wheel. That is a legendary machine for sure.

Im guessing that LT-5 has a little more than top end porting and a chip..😷

Congratulations! Very cool!
I agree, very smooth, almost no steering wheel
movement.
Wow, you shifted into 5th gear at about 220mph!

I'd sure like to know what that engine has in it for cam chains.

Understand they are running German iwis secondary chains supplied by Jerry's.

Didn't know Jerry had chains made.

In reading about this car here and on the CF, I'm hooked. I've done feature articles on different salt cars over the years and I submitted a story idea for a piece on Dave car to my Editor at Corvette Magazine. If he goes for it, I'm headed down to Texas.

Time to put the PS Sport A/S 3 Pluses on the Bad Assed Bee and throw the Nikons in the back...ROAD TRIP!

I also used Jerry's stronger iwis chains on my 427 stroker build to handle the additional stress of swinging 0.500" lift intake and 0.440 lift exhaust custom cams. When laid side by side Jerry's chains are definitely stouter construction and better finished compared to OEM chains.
